Can you freeze canned goods? Like buy a very large can of something (like
tomato paste, sauce and diced or applesauce) and separate it into portions
and refreeze them? I am tightwadding and I was wondering if I can buy my
veggies and stuff that way and refreeze them.

Especially tomato paste, spaghetti sauce, and stuff like that. I dunno
about canned green beans, etc. Try it and see; it won't hurt anything,
but the quality may suffer.

I have a *big* can of Chinese hoisin sauce in my freezer with a coffee
can lid on it. I've been working on that can for about 5 years now...

Best regards,
Bob

Sure -- especially the tomato saucey things. I don't think I'd do
previously-canned veggies. No reason other than it doesn't sound very
appealing to me. MAYBE if they were absolutely thawed before heating,
so no breaking up of a frozen brick was required in the heating.
They're mushy to start with and I wouldn't want to mess around with them
in a pan any more than necessary. JMO.
