I've got both a Misto and another brand of oil sprayer, which are either
filled with vegetable oil or olive oil. I'm getting to the point where
they need to be cleaned badly (especially the one holding veg oil)
because the sprayer is clogged with thickened, sticky oil, and other
parts of the sprayer are coated as well.

What's good for cleaning this gunk?

thanks,
Linda

If this were a non food Item I would clean with a thinner petro product like
gasoline or kerosene. Actually I think that as gross as it sounds if the
veg oil is thickened and 'gunky' as stated I might any way because a dish
washing product like 'Joy' will remove that gas or kerosene residue after.
My Miso gets emptied and cleaned with just dish washing detergent and water
about every 2-3 weeks. Robert

I've cleaned mine ( olive oil only ) with Dawn or some other grease cutting
detergent. First I clean the container and fill with hot soapy water, replace the
pump/sprayer and pump it up. Spray until the nozzle is clean and repeat the process
with plain water utill the soap is gone. Then just pump up the empty to get the last
water out of the pickup tube and nozzle.
