I picked up some Starbucks coffee when I was in Chicago and I'm almost
out of my supply. Although in Vancouver, Starbucks has not yet reached
Ontario. My question is, how can I get some more? Is the mail order only in
the US, or is there a Canadian distributor (i.e. in Vancouver)? If only in
the US, is the 800 phone number valid in Ontario? Please let me know.

Starbucks has a personal coffee service that allows as many pounds of as
many kinds of coffee delivered to your house at whatever interval you
require. For us, that's two pounds of Verona and two pounds of Guatemala
Antigua (although we'll soon switch to Summer Blend) every six weeks. We
also have a second account that sends two pounds of Verona to our daughter
at college every month.

I subscribe to a similar service by Gevalia Kaffe. They specialize in importing from Sweden. Thus far they have EXCELENT customer service as well as a free (cheep, but free) coffee maker w/ your initial order. Thier 800 number is: 1-800-438-2542.
Caution, steer clear of thier 'Traditional Roast'.

Personally, I like the Gevalia better than some of the starbucks coffee.
Granted, Starbucks has great coffees but some of their espresso drinks
are way too strong. And I agree to stay clear of Gevalia's Traditional
Roast. Its nasty. Carrie

My word...Do you people actually drink Starbucks..Personal bumper sticker
reads: Lips that touch Starbucks shall never touch mine. Most people in
the industry refer to it as "Charbucks"... They roast it that way so you
cant tell how bad it really was to start.

I disagree. I like dark roasted coffees. Starbucks has some really great
coffees. Their Ethiopean coffees, especially the Harrar when they have
it, are excellent. So is the New Guinea Peaberry and the Costa Rican Tres
Rios. If you don't like dark roasted coffees you probably wont like
Starbuck's or Peets.

This is a sentimental choice for me as much as anything.
I lived in Seattle for a couple of years when Starbucks
was just a counter at Pike Place Market and I was an
unemployed back-to-school-at-30-just-moved-there-
no-friends-can-I-hang-out-here-all-day coffee drinker.
After moving East, I became a Starbucks-by-mail
person in the first minute after finding out I could.
I fill in occasionally with beans from local roasters, but
like to have the connection with that time and place.

I agree with acoffeeman@aol, Starbucks is a pox on my fair city,
Washington, DC. I do like some of their coffee, the Ethiopia Harrar and
Sidamo, but I don't like the tastes of most of the other roasters/sellers
in town, like Sirius or Quartermaine.....Of course if you don't live here
that doesn't help now does it?

Oh well
