Do you have a Kenmore Elite microwave? I am hearing a beeping noise and I
can't figure out why. Happens every 10 minutes or so - never timed it. It
might be from something else but it is not predictable and seems to be
coming from the MW. I doubt it's the digital scale nearby and tried
changing battery in smoke alarm. Can't think of anything else.

Sounds like the MW beeps when it finished heating something and displaying
"End". But this happens when MW is just sitting idly with the correct time
on the display. Ever had that happen? Figure out why?

I doubt if I'll get much help here with a very old MW and problem unlikely
often occuring but couldn't hurt to ask.

TIA

What hits did you get with "kenmore elite microwave keeps beeping". Here's
one of the more promising hits that I got:

That's for a GE, but since Kenmore is made by various "real" manufacturers,
it's worth a try and costs nothing.

Mine does exactly as you describe if it finishes (beeps), and then you do
not open the door to remove the cooked food. It beeps every few minutes
until the door is opened. Eventually it stops, after a few beeps.

If you never noticed it before, it might be because you are now becoming
more forgetful.

I had already tried unplugging it for a few minutes. Didn't try that for
multiple hours though. May do that after lunch.

Thanks.

Nope, that's not it. No food inside. No recent usage.

Thanks anyway.

Unplug it. Then if it still happens,. you'll know it's from something else.

I unplugged it for 6 hours. No more annoying unexpected beeps since
then. Thank you very much for your suggestion!
