The prices have gone way up in this area. I was going to buy beef for pot
roast, time before last but all of them were in the $50-$70 range! A package
of Laura's Lean Ground Beef was $10.38 when I went to the store yesterday. I
don't normally buy that kind but the Safeway I went to didn't have the grass
fed, organic that I usually buy.

I was at a bit of a disadvantage as I wasn't wearing my glasses and I can't
see to read without them. Not a meat package anyway. So I couldn't really
tell the sizes of things. The ground beef did not appear to be a pound
though. We are required to wear a mask while shopping and my glasses fog up
with the mask on. Hence, no glasses.

What I did see everywhere was packages of "Beyond", fake meat of all kinds.
Uh, no. Not for me. If I want a meatless meal, I'll have cheese or beans and
not something pretending to be meat.

I'm glad I stocked up on canned chicken and pouches of tuna before the price
went up on those! At least I'm assuming it did. If it didn't, it will soon.

Angela and I are going to the Walmart Neighborhood Market later. Might have
better luck there. The only meat I bought at Safeway was some chicken
tenders. I intended to make them for dinner with the stuffing but I got a
visitor who had already eaten, so I had a quick cheese sandwich instead.

I have no need for such a thing.

They're the closest thing to meat, without eating meat, that I know.
Meat eaters who like Beyond Meat but miss the animal suffering, could
always find a dog to kick.

I'd just eat the dog. Especially those evil wild dogs that you
want
to kill anyway.

The cultured meat Beyond Meats makes IS meat, just not meat directly from the bodies of animals, but from meat stem cells. No fat though, or bone or gristle.

Here are the ingredients of the Beyond Meat burger:

"Water, Pea Protein*, Expeller-Pressed Canola Oil, Refined Coconut
Oil, Rice Protein, Natural Flavors, Cocoa Butter, Mung Bean Protein,
Methylcellulose, Potato Starch, Apple Extract, Pomegranate Extract,
Salt, Potassium Chloride, Vinegar, Lemon Juice Concentrate, Sunflower
Lecithin, Beet Juice Extract (for color)."

Do you see meat in that list?

This is what he is talking about but it is not Beyond Meat.

Cultured meat is meat produced by in vitro cell culture of animal cells,
instead of from slaughtered animals. It is a form of cellular
agriculture. Cultured meat is produced using many of the same tissue
engineering techniques traditionally used in regenerative medicine.

Yes, exactly, something else altogether.
