Wiki: In the United States in the early 1900s, clam juice was
used as an ingredient for various beverages at soda fountains.[11]
Beverages prepared with clam juice included hot clam juice, hot
clam soda, hot ginger clam broth, hot celery punch, hot clam
cream, clam night cap, tomato clam broth and others

Me: Then around the late 50's clam cocktails became all the rage.
Originally started in the U.S. but them moved up to Canada and
exploded up there. Clamato was actually the last on the clam
tomato cocktail scene.

Somebody or someone is making a clam cocktail concentrate in bulk
and selling it to bottlers - Maybe even Motts themselves. All the
ingredients are the same in Clamato as all the [former] store
brands. All the bottlers do is add water and a tomato product of
choice (to reconstitute to 30-40% tomato juice in the final
product), a sugar of choice (HFCS or cane sugar), and throw it
into bottles. Clamato adds a little more sugar in the form of
HFCS (at least in the U.S.), and also extra salt, plus red pepper.

The secret ingredient in this mix is the "natural flavor". Like
many "natural flavors", there are no expiring patents, copyrights,
or whatnot. Like recipes and perfumes, they're protected only by
secrecy and many are nearly impossible to reverse engineer even
with gas chromatography mass spectrometry. But I have information
from a Higher Authority that this flavor is extracted from the
foreskins of Jewish male babies taken during their bris.

All the more reason for secrecy and it's really a pretty sick
inside Jewish joke: Since Clamato is not Kosher, only the
infidels will be drinking their Jewish foreskin juice. They
probably get a big laugh out of that but <shrug> it's whatever. I
still like it and drink it.

In the last 1.5 years, the store brands and independent bottlers
in the U.S. have all ceased to make a clam tomato cocktail juice.
Randalls, Safeway, HEB, Goya, Kroger, Save-on, and every other
American grocery store brand. But not Loblaws, Presidents Choice,
Dominion, Voila - all the Canadian grocers still have their full
array of Clam Tomato cocktail clones (which all have the same base
mix ingredients). And my Clam Club here, it comes in across the
border from the Mexican Cartels which cost an extra $2/gallon. But
at least it doesn't cost the $13/gallon that Mott's charges for
Clamato and isn't as sweet and goopy from HFCS.

But Walmart is afraid to display Clam Club in stores and they
don't sell it to just any tom, dick, or hairy. For the last 18
months you've have to order it online and do a "curbside pickup"
since it's hidden in a back room. If they deem you worthy, they
will bring it out to you. If not, they just claim it's out of
stock.

So obviously this is true conspiracy here. Why is the U.S. being
deprived of low-cost clam tomato cocktail juice? Corporate greed?
Or is it due to the fact that some Muslims and Jews are now
choosing to forgo circumcision?

I'm gonna follow the foreskin and do some more investigating. Stay
tuned!

It seems that Bloody Caesars never caught on in the US the way they did
here. I know lots of people who drink them and I never had one until
last year. Holy cow. They are amazing.

Another good thing to originate in Calgary.

At one time it was made in St.Catharines in what had been the Welch's
grape juice facility.

While you're at it, find out why "my supermarket" quit selling
Snap-E Tom. I really liked that stuff. I see that Walmart is still
selling it. I go there once a year. I just gotta remember. I won't.

I only see Snap-E Tom at liquor stores. Maybe when you upgrade
from beer you'll see it there, too! ;-)
