I post with my real name. My name really is Joan and it isn't JoAnn as many

The 2 party system is a good thing. Both would disagree but come to some

That's just a side effect of the steady erosion of education and
news reporting. Every U.S. resident who believes in fantasy over
fact is part of the problem.

The two-party system is a bad thing.

A strong third party could make all the difference. But the
current contenders are just laughable.

Think of what would happen if there were left, right, and center
parties. Two of them would have to agree to get anything
done, and their constituents would expect them to do that.

Be careful of what you ask for. We had a Progressive Conservative party
for many years and the government was frequently bouncing back and forth
between the PCs and the Liberals. The more right wing members of the PC
split off and formed their own party with a much more conservative
platform. That led to a number of Liberal wins until the conservatives
realized had to acknowledge that they had split the conservative vote
and decided to merge back into one.

leaving a shameful legacy behind.

We all have some control of our legacy and where we will go in life. We
have choices to make every day. History can judge a person on the good

The people have spoke. Even Lindsey Graham and McConnell accept it.

The Judicial branch is mostly conservative Republican appointees.

I agree.

That is her point. One of the problems recently is too many things were
decided by party than individuals forming their own opinion.

A number of Dem House members hung on by a small margin, and IIRC the Republicans gained where they were forecast to lose...2022 midterms should be *vewy vewy* interesting...

IIRC the last time the Dems had solid majorities was during Obama, they later ended up losing many seats and many local/state races were won by the GOP:...

Even when either party is "in control" they usually screw up someway, somehow...the "herd of cats" descriptor is apt...

Do I detect voter fraud here?

If only politics were that simple. In real life politicians face a lot
of pressure from their own parties to toe the party line. They are
forever making back room deals, offering them something in return for
their support. Sometimes the enticement is a position on a committee,
and that often means extra pay, travel and expense accounts.

No argument. But Senators have constituents, and not all of them are
Democrats. Some Senators have to walk a very fine line to keep their seats.

And cats do "do herds." I saw it with my own eyes on an old SuperBowl
commercial. heheh

You're saying the opposite. If the Democrats are a herd of cats, they
DON'T let everything decide by their party.
