And for the first time in geological time, this the Sixth Major Extinction event on Earth was caused by one biological organism, Homo Sapiens! The last major Extinction event was caused by a six mile wide meteor which went meteorite and not only formed the Gulf Of Mexico and wiped out the Dinosaurs!

Everybody knows global warming is real, except Republicans.

It's been interesting to watch. It started off with "global warming".
Then when some people started experiencing record colds it suddenly
changed to "climate change".

I can't disagree with that. It just seems to be so much more polarized

Exactly. Give then an inch and they can flip out on a whole string of
issues and assume attitudes.

Because climate is a nonlinear system, an increase in average
global temperatures does not necessarily result in monotonically
increasing temperatures at a specific location.

When some farmers and all greens agree on something. You can safely assume

Why is Bikini Atoll still above water? Why aren’t major ports being
repaired or shifted because of rising sea levels? Why are you so gullible?

That's an excellent question. Why aren't the Pacific atolls underwater? Perhaps the polar icecaps don't hold that much water. Perhaps the polar icecaps aren't melting. Perhaps the water is disappearing somewhere. It's a mystery alright.

When Greenland and Antartica release their ice, humanity will enter mild
turmoil. We may have to farm Greenland or Antartica to raise wheat, corn and
rice. Papayas in Kansas and corn in Greenland, can you imagine? The horror!
Meanwhile, real Covid makes this trivial concern moot.

I think that mild turmoil would be the reality. Humans can deal with slow climate change and slowly changing weather patterns and farming regions. Eventually, we'll live underground and learn to recycle our precious bodily fluids. Meanwhile, we should all enjoy a nice glass of cool refreshing water.

It doesn't look as if it'll kill enough humans to make a difference.

No, it doesn’t. In the short run, I’m old enough, overweight enough and
have type A blood. My wife has all that plus diabetes. We’re hunkering
down, best as we can, until a vaccine emerges or stats become reasonably
encouraging.
I just postponed a “wellness” exam until October. Then we’ll see if I
postpone it again. And by the way, nobody would think me fat by looking at me
unless they were skinny. Body mass, my ass! I’m robust ;)

are also people who think covid is a conspiracy to take away our

Some will laugh, but I blame social media algorithms. If you
understand how they actually work in this context, it goes a long way
to explaining the inanity we have to deal with now.

What's fascinating to watch has been the Democrat's nomination
process, how it has panned out this year and the current situation.

I've been saying for months that Biden is merely a placeholder,
because the process didn't go the way the bought-and-paid-for
establishment had hoped for. They had a couple of very good potential
candidates, but they were not shills for the establishment. So they
went for Biden in the interim, I'm sure they had no intention of
relying on Biden to take charge and be in control of the presidency,
at the very least they can have a VP in charge (who of course is a
whore for the establishment).

The Democrat elite would rather lose the election than have a
legitimately elected presidential candidate who isn't a 'team player'
for the elite. The Dems put Trump into office in the first place, and
now it looks like they may do it again.
