I posted this pic separately under my dinner thread last night:

That's a package of four 1/2 lb. each hamburger patties. Yikes!

I posted that pic when I saw what I'd gotten and said I'd only be able
to eat half of it and would have to reheat the other half in the oven,
wrapped in foil. I was kidding about that.

Here's what happened. I wanted a burger for dinner last night but I had
used up the ground beef that was included in one of the monthly
"specials" I'd gotten from the meat market near the office.

I wanted a few other items, too, but didn't feel like going shopping.
So I tried out grocery delivery from Walmart. I selected my items,
placed my order, picked a delivery time (between 5-6PM). Then I did
some chores around the house then sat outside and read for a while.

When I came back inside I found I had an email from Walmart saying they
had to make a substitution. I had until 4:30 to decline the or
otherwise change the substitution. Naturally it was after 4:30 when I
read the email. I had ordered a package of eight 1/4 lb. hamburger patties.

The order was delivered at 5:13. I know the exact time it was delivered
because they take a photo of bags of food when they leave it where you
tell them to (in my case, at the front door) and email it to you. I
also opened the door and said thank you to the woman who delivered them. :)

I reformed those patties into 1/4 lb. burgers. Cooked one, wrapped and
froze the rest for another time.

All in all, though, I have to say I was quite pleased with the grocery
delivery process. The delivery fee, which I believe is based on the
total cost of the order, was under $5. They did add a $7 tip for the
driver which is not unreasonable since the employees (not a third party
delivery service) use their personal vehicles to deliver.

But oh, there was no receipt in the any of the bags so I couldn't even
participate in my own "post your grocery store receipts" thread. LOL

1. You can change the tip
2. Delivery fee is a fixed price. You can sign up for Walmart+
free for 30 days and get free delivery during that time. But cancel
before 30 days or they charge you something like $100 for a year.
3. There is no 3.
4. They send a final receipt VIA email.
5. They use a third party delivery service. Here its Door Dash.
And they sometimes steal some of your groceries.
6. How did they get past the gate?

This is sorta piggy-backing onto your post about Walmart delivery. Two weeks
ago, a Sunday, I was in the living room and a woman left a package on my
front porch. She was gone before I could get to the front door and there was
no name on the package but it was from Walmart and somewhat heavy. I
asked the neighbors across the street if they were expecting anything as they
receive deliveries multiple times per day.

Whatever it was I was going to return to Walmart that week when I was out.
Another neighbor came over and she says let's open it and it turned out to
be a jar of marinara sauce!! I gave it to her and she did use it. But whoever
did not receive their sauce was stuck with a delivery fee and tip and I hope
they lodged a complaint about being charged for something they didn't receive.

1. I could change the tip but I felt it was sufficient.

2. I'm not a member of Walmart+ or Amazon Plus or anything like that.

No, the delivery fee changed from about $7.41 to under $5 when they when
they made the substitution and it was less, not more than the original
order cost.

3. None

4. It wasn't a receipt like you'd get at the store.

5. The woman was wearing a Blue Walmart shirt. Nothing was stolen.

6. How did they get past the gate? Beats me. I'm probably not the only
person here who has groceries delivered.

So you gave someone elses mis-delivered order to your neighbor and she
used it?! Uh...

Whose fault was that? I hope they are able to dispute that they never
received it and that your neighbor actually ate it. Yikes!

There was no identifying name whatsoever on the bag. A bunch of numbers
that I thought would tell me who this would belong to. Nope, they were useless.

Certainly not mine. That fault lays with the delivery person. There wasn't even
an address on the bag.

I would not be surprised in the least if I'd returned it Walmart they would have
just stuck it back on the shelf with an "oh well." Either way, original recipient
would have to dispute the charges.

For that wee bit of meat (two pounds) would have been far less
complicated to grind your own with no emails, those look like typical
mystery meat... not very fresh. And you'd save the outrageous $7 tip.
Next time you're at Walmart buy an Oster electric meat grinder for
about $120.

I have a meat grinder. Too much trouble to clean it when all I want is
a hamburger. I'm not afraid of what they grind at the store. You don't
know how fresh that meat is that you grind, either. You don't raise and
butcher the meat.

The butcher at tops market always urinates on the meat when popeye
orders a few pounds of ground meat. They even put rat turds in the
poor fucker's peppercorns.

They even sneak out in the parking lot and smear shit on his land
cruiser. They fuck the poor sailor at every chance.

What chunk of meat is recommended for burgers? I am considering it.
I grabbed a kitchenaid mixer but did not yet buy any attachments.

Don't get the KA meat grinder. The first one I had (plastic body)
cracked from stress. It was a known problem, and it was replaced at no
charge. The new one, also plastic, was a slightly different design, and
took longer to start to crack.
I've replaced it with a non-KA (fully compatible with KA) stainless
model, which is easier to clean, and unlikely to crack. It also came
with more grind plates, a spare cutting blade, and sausage stuffers.

It's a Gvode.

Item(s) Subtotal: $89.99
Shipping & Handling: $ 0.00
Lightning Deal: -$30.16
Your Coupon Savings:-$18.00
Total before tax: $41.83

It claims to be dishwasher safe, but I've been hand washing it.

Be careful, though - they have similar units which have stainless parts,
but also have cast aluminium bits. They tend to be a bit cheaper.

You shouldn't be. Here in the modern 21st century, a computer with a laser beam on the meat can tell the difference between beef and the other stuff.
