I'm making a pot of lentil soup with spinach. I'll be baking a skillet
of cornbread to go with it.

Following my fridge clearing soup last week, I bought some more of the
same veggies to make a 100:1* stew with some chopped up steak. Smells
good:-)

* During the Great Depression, my grandmother used to make a stew that
she called "thousand and one".

I ate some Hagan Das Rocky Road ice cream late in the afternoon
so I think I'm good for the rest of the evening.

Last night's dinner was a nostalgic favorite: a salad with
Muenster cheese and green olives, dressed with apple-cider vinaigrette.

Lunch was take-out sushi. Husband had a California roll and
a spider roll (deep-fried soft-shell crab). I had a eel and
asparagus roll, which was unappealingly cold by the time I got
it home. I suspect the health department forces the restaurant
to keep the rice below 40 F.

I bet next time, you'll eat in the car.

I had one of those "spider rolls" at that fancy Sushi place that I
mentioned once in Pittsburgh. IIRC, it was served warm/hot. I don't
think that I could be satisfied with cold pre-made sushi again after
eating there, especially since I'm rarely in the mood for it to begin with.
