Forgive me if this has been discussed before. Has anyone
tried the Jell-O sparkling flavors made with seltzer ? I
have made it twice now, following the instructions to the
letter and cannot achieve bubbles! I even E-mailed Kraft
and they assured me that it is easy enough for any consumer
to do...just not me, I guess. I would like to hear your
experiences. Have any of you used this product and has it
worked for you?
Thanks, Marlene

I haven't the vaguest idea why I did it, but I made that once ...
I think it was raspberry? I think the "champange" part intrigued
me. At any rate, it turned out to be a jello that was somewhat
fizzy to the tongue, but I can't say as I saw specific bubbles.

I don't remember the exact instructions, but I'd imagine too much
stirring would be a no no. Good luck!

Marlene: I notice that your ISP is USWest. If you are in the Rockies, (at
high altitude), that may be your problem. Gas comes out of solution more
rapidly at high altitude because of less external air pressure, (high
school physics--gas laws) so your seltzer loses "fizz" before the gelatin
hardens around the CO2 bubbles, to seal them in. If you are not at high
altitude, I have no idea....

Marlene,
I've had the exact same problem. I thought it was me. One thing I found
that helps (but is still not perfect) is to use the smallest bottles of
seltzer and pour directly from the bottle to the bowl. Also someone
mentioned that using fizzy grape juice/cider worked better than the
selzer/club soda, but I haven't tested that. If you get it to work, let me
know. I've been pretty frustrated myself I have to say.

Along the same lines, can anyone still get Jello 1-2-3? We're planning a
childhood food memories New Years party and that's something I'd love to
find.
Amy

Thanks to everyone for their ideas. I am in Arizona, Phoenix area, so high
altitude is not a problem. I will try the small bottles of seltzer. I would
not try at all but I still have some packages I have already purchased !
Thanks again, Marlene

We've been looking for this for awhile as well. It seems to have disappeared.

Are y'all waiting for the hot jello mixture to chill before adding the cold
soda water or seltzer? I didn't have any problems getting fizzy jello.

Gosh, I thought I was the only one that didn't get the bubbles. I also
made it twice. Different flavors too.

I have not tried this yet, but what do you think about:
1. Chilling the Jello until it starts to thcken, then add seltzer.
2. Seal Jello in Tupperware type container with lid on to keep CO2 in.
