Anything special landing on your dinner table tonight?

It's going to be pork chops here again done in the air fryer seasoned with
Morton's Nature Seasoning of which I have added some other spices to.
Frozen broccoli which will be cooked in the microwave and finished off
with melted cheese will be the vegetable to accompany the chops.

Get the smelling salts out now as the cheese that will be melted on top
of the broccoli is . . . (trumpet fanfare! 🎺) V e l v e e t a!

Has everyone returned to consciousness???

Want to bet there's sugar in the seasoning?

Snatch-blocked chicken dry-brined 24 hours and possibly grilled or
more likely in the oven. Fresh Green beans or broccoli. And
fondant potatoes if done in the oven.

It does but the other spices I added to it has greatly reduced the original amount
of sugar. Garlic, onion powder, fresh ground black pepper, oregano, marjoram, and
thyme were what I added to it to 'perk' it up.

Shrimp stir fry. I did use to much brown sugar in the sauce.

Leftover chicken and potatoes, with a salad. Still have some chicken
breast left so tomorrow night will be chicken salad, naan, tomato.

I made a couple of leftover turkey sandwiches. Dark meat, with a
squirt of hot sauce and mayo.

It's actually better than I thought it would be.

What does nature seasoning taste like? Moist soil, tree bark,
fine northern moss, elk droppings, and spring brookstone slime?

At least melt it in a pan first with some white wine and call it
fondue.

It's just a seasoning blend but I perked it up dramatically, I think, with the
additional spices. I went a bit heavy on the garlic and onion powder, then
tapered off on the oregano and marjoram and even less with the thyme.
This was all done in an empty Morton's bottle, stirred thoroughly and into
the refrigerator.

Naw, do the bag of frozen broccoli in the microwave until just barely tender.
Dump into a microwave safe bowl, add the cubed Velveeta and back into
the microwave for about two minutes to melt the cheese. Stir, time to eat!!

Well, its a flavored salt @ 66% salt)

Why not just start with salt for $.30/lb rather than Mortons for
$6.10/lb? I mean, since you basically added the same things that
were already in there...

It's even worse than I imagined. I was being naive giving
suggestions.

Are the chickens you buy so heavy that you need a snatch block for them?

(Yes, I know what you meant.)

Snatch-blocked vs cock-blocked. It gets confusing when

Trying to use up my tortillas from the freezer, I came upon a recipe for using up tortillas called

Easy Mexican pizza

I did not have any pizza sauce so I opened a can of what I thought was a knock off rotel , Tomato Love

It was diced tomatoes, which I thought was in olive oil but was so watery the shells started disintegrating

I didn't have pepperoni so I used summer sausage

I did not have any Mexican or Italian cheese so I used dill flavored havarti

It very well could be 66% salt thus the additional spices to liven it up.

I only use regular iodized table salt when boiling pasta. My 'everyday' salt
is Morton's Lite Salt and has been my choice 35+ years. But as I said I did
add more and somewhat heavy handed spices.

No whining! I gave fair warning with the creation of this post that I used Velveeta.

Hell, don't worry about it. Squirtz is probably out gluing quarters
to the sidewalk and hiding in the bushes to watch people's response.

And you know damn well he will whine no matter what you do.

My problem isn't with the cheese it's with your contrary use of
salts.

Just stop wasting money on those flavored salts.

The Morton's Natures Seasons is just a jumping off place to start making
my own highly seasoned concoction.

But this should soothe your raw nerves. I do make my barbecue rub and taco
seasoning from scratch.

Hold the Velveeta for me, but that Morton's natures seasons is one of my
favorites. I always have a jar of it in the cabinet... but I'm still
not happy when they changed the top style several years ago. It used to
screw off with the slotted dispenser underneath, and now it flips up,
for some reason.

Yes, Bruce, there is some sugar in it, but used sparingly won't kill
anyone. It's perfect for seasoning chili, because that touch of sugar
displaces the need for a few tsp of sugar to offset the tomato acidity.

you can buy bulk taco seasoning or chili seasoning
spices at most big box or club stores. why would i
want to pay extra for a name brand that likely has the
same ingredients (or maybe even possibly worse?).

The purist always criticize the use of purchased seasoning blends but
some are very nice. I like Vegetable Magic. I don't usually have
disodium inosinate around to make my own so I buy the prepared stuff..

What is vegetable seasoning made of?
DEHYDRATED VEGETABLES [ONION, GARLIC, RED BELL PEPPER, SUN-DRIED TOMATO
(CONTAINS SULPHITES), TOMATO, LEEK, CHIVES], SALT, SUGAR, SPICES AND
HERBS, SODIUM ACETATE, ACETIC ACID, HIGH OLEIC SUNFLOWER OIL, DISODIUM
INOSINATE AND GUANYLATE, WORCESTERSHIRE SAUCE (VINEGAR, REFINERS'
MOLASSES, GLUCOSE SYRUP, SALT, CARAMEL
