I had a Walmart grocery delivery scheduled for last evening, and it never arrived, status was "delayed". So I cancelled the order at 8:00 PM last night, but this morning I still saw this message:
"Delivery from store - Cancellation requested today - We can't guarantee we'll be able to cancel these items. They may already have been prepared. We'll send an email if your cancellation is confirmed..."
So just logged on to their customer service chat, asking to confirm the cancellation, since I never got an email. The online chat took two minutes, the order is cancelled, and although I was not expecting any refund/recompense, I got this:
"Hi Gregory,
We strive to make shopping special for Walmart+ members and we're sorry your recent experience didn't meet expectations.
Here's something special to say thanks for being a valued member of a Walmart+ family:
Use promo code XXXXXXXX and get $25 off your next eligible order over $45 when you use it by Tue, Nov 21. Just add it to the promo code box at checkout. Must be used by Tue, Nov 21, 2023..."
This is the third time this year I've been offered a $25.00 promo code for delayed grocery delivery. My Walmart + membership is $98.00 per year, so with these total $75.00 credits, the cost of that membership is whittled down to $23.00...
I have never asked for "refunds", but three times they've been offered...
This to me, is "good customer service"... I've also received similar from Amazon as I'm a Prime member...
