Trying to cut back on calorie intake.

Instead of ordering a pizza, I ordered salad ingredients from amazon
fresh. Got them 2 hours later.

Made a fattie with shredded carrots, mozzarella cheese, mushrooms,
onions and lettuc. with blue cheese dressing and croutons.

While salads can be low calorie, it's usually the dressing that you put
on them that can make it high.

You added blue cheese dressing. Ever tried "Marie's" brand? It's good stuff.

Not approved by my husband. He makes his own from mayo, blue cheese,
and other things. I don't watch too closely, since blue cheese stinks. He
figures life is too short to waste it eating anything but homemade. Otherwise
it isn't worth the calories.

Xanthan gum, yay! Propylene Glycol Alginate sounds like lighter fluid.

This always cracks me up. They make a horrid concoction with all kinds
of crap and then they add more crap to protect the flavour :)

Organic chemistry is amazing. If a green bean was shown, broken down into its
chemical compounds, the result would scare the hell out of you. Broken into
elements, you will notice arsenic, thallium, mercury, etc., in minuscule
quantities.
You eat this stuff with every bite of every meal. You will die if you drink
too much water too quickly. You will die if you don´t drink water quickly
enough. Get over it.

As opposed to the guy with a degree from the UOW that I´m thinking, I might
stop supporting. Be kind child, or I´ll defund your education :)

Good boy! At least you know where you go to school. That´s Step-1. Step-2
is to realize that they have a terrible political science program. I
encourage you to switch to physics, chemistry, engineering or math. Become a
critical thinker, and your current philosophy will flip-flop. That´s a good
thing.

I don´t know. Votes can be bought, cheap. Ten bucks for your ballot. Just
sign here and hand it over. Nobody mentions that.
At least twenty percent of ballots cast wouldn´t have been if there was any
effort required without reward on the voter´s part. "Community
organizers", organs of the Democrat Party, know exactly who plays ball by
not caring or needing money. So...
I´m a cynic and am never disappointed.

Soybean oil is the cheapest, shittiest tasting oil. No high quality product
uses soybean oil. Canola is shitty too.

The only hot thighs you get are from chickens.

The Republicans know it's inefficient to buy votes on a retail basis. They
get them wholesale by advertising on Fox News and by judicial decisions
like Citizens United.

No argument there, Bryan. Chicken wings and chicken thighs are what I
was talking about.

If you ever read an old post from me, I used to make "Buffalo Chicken
Wings," usually for SuperBowl Sunday when they are a popular snack and
I'm reminded of them.

Went to the store to buy some but they were priced at $4.99/lb (for
wings). Screw that. Very overpriced.

As an alternative, I bought a whole chicken for $0.89/pound. I cut that
up into about 11 pieces and made "Buffalo Whole Chicken." Coated with
the same sauce and dipped in the blue cheese dressing as with wings.

It was an excellent alternative.

Since then, I just use thighs (my favorite and very meaty part).
"Buffalo Chicken Thighs."

I remember a few months ago, US Janet asked about those and I told her
to give them a try. Did you ever try them yet, Janet? It's almost
SuperBowl time again.

It is important to note that the whining about vote fraud started long
before the election. Trump started feeding stories about it way in
advance. The courts rejected Trumps challenges because there simply
wasn't any enough evidence to justify them.

For all we know, if there had been voter fraud it could have been the
Republicans doing it. It is probably like my theory about liars being
quick to accuse others of lying. They do it a lot themselves so they
assume that others do too.

I've heard those stories for 60 years but have never seen evidence.
Goes back to at least the 1700's when bars were open.
Look at the total votes cast. Evidently both sides got a lot of people
out this time. At 10 buck a pop, who can afford it?

https://untappedcities.com/2020/11/03/boozy-history-voting-bars-election-day/
Not even the great George Washington was against offering booze for
ballots. In his book Last Call: The Rise and Fall of Prohibition author
Daniel Okrent writes that after losing a bid for a seat in the Virginia
House of Burgesses, Washington credited the loss to not providing enough
alcohol for the voters. The next time around, Washington “floated into
office partly on the 144 gallons of rum, punch, hard cider and beer his
election agent handed out—roughly half a gallon for every vote he received.”

I remember that book well, something astounding was how much hard liquor - let alone beer/cider - was quaffed by early Americans...

i tend to agree with that for a lot of things.

the store-bought blue cheese dressings tend to be made
with chunks of white cheese that don't have any blue in
them and also not enough lumps anyways. i think i like
blue cheese crumbled on top and vinegar and oil dressing
instead. as much as i do like mayo i don't need it on
everything. :)

My husband also likes crumbled blue cheese with vinaigrette.
There used to be a restaurant in Cincinnati (where he's from) where
he could get that combo. Also minced raw garlic for his steak.

I rarely have creamy dressing on a salad. Ranch if I'm in a restaurant
and I think the vinaigrette will be too sweet. Once in a while I swot together
a quick dressing with the flavor profile of Caesar salad and add a
touch of mayo to stand in for the egg. Once in a blue moon I'll add herbs
and garlic to buttermilk for homemade ranch, but I don't add mayo.
