Stuffed pork chops
Steamed green beans

Simple and very tasty. Use whatever type of stuffing/dressing crumbs
you would use for stuffing poultry. I prefer cornbread. Cut a pocket
in the center of bone-in thick cut pork chops. Spoon in the already
prepared moist stuffing. Season both sides of the pork chops with S&P
and some dried sage. Place in a lightly oiled glass baking pan (or add
some butter to the oil). Bake at 325F for about 40 minutes then check
the temp. Avoid the temptation to turn the stuffed chops. The chops
will be lightly browned on each side, fork tender and the stuffing quite
moist and hot.

Steamed green beans don't need any explanation. :)

That sounds good, how did they turn out? I've made stuffed chicken
breast before, but I used a bit of cream cheese and something else, I
don't remember what... pesto on top. They came out well, quite filling,
but almost too rich. I'm not sure why I didn't stuff it with actual
dressing, it must have been some kind of recipe that I found.

I made stuffeed mushrooms.

Lidl sold a big box of fresh open mushrooms eack the size of my open
palm. . 4 each.

I finely chopped a sweet red pepper, some shallots, a big tomato, half
a pkt of left-over chestnuts, and the stems of the mushrooms, and
sizzled them in OO in a pan till soft. + S+P + mixed herbs, left it to
cool.

Meanwhile I slightly greased a roasting pan and peeled the skin off
the mushroom caps.

Palmed the stuffing in a mound in each cap, placed in roasting tin.

Grated a slice of wholemeal bread and scattered crumbs over stuffing.
Topped each mushroom with a small slice of feta cheese. A thin dribble
of OO over all, then into a moderate oven for half an hour unil the
mushrooms were cooked.

Delish.

Jill didn't make that meal. Look at the subject. It was "planned for
dinner tomorrow."

Jill often posts this crap to generate food talk. She often never does
make the meal. She's a phoney mahoney. lol

That's dinner for tonight, 1/28. They always turn out nicely. I'm not

What's wrong with posting about food on a COOKING group?! I've got two
thick cut bone-in pork chops thawing in the kitchen right now. They
were included in the monthly special at the meat market. No, I haven't
thawed and cooked the shrimp yet, that was an idea gathering food
related post. <gasp> I don't know why you have such a problem with on
topic posts.

I never order breakfast sausage. Stuffed pork chops are one of the
few meat dishes I like breaded. I like breaded veal cutlets too. I
don't care for plain pork chops breaded.
Since we grow so many green beans we usually slice them into 1"
lengths and have them stir fried, with slivered garlic, soy sauce,
toasted sesame seed oil, and white pepper... the small/young ones
don't need cooking, they get marinated over-night in salad dressing
and go into a tossed salad, or eaten as is.

I'd use poultry seasoning, which contains sage. Oregano just
wouldn't be right for this dish.

I don't make stuffed pork chops; I like very few meat dishes
breaded.

Reminds me of deep fried mushrooms (in soybean oil)!

I wonder how you can make the crust stay on fried mushrooms after they're fried.

Ignore them, Jill. A lot of the porn and drug addicts that come in here don't want to hear about food. They just want to keep bringing their junk, here.

Agreed. Oregano would not be right and it's not the same as parsley.
Sage works very well with pork chops and we aren't talking about ground
breakfast sausage.

Why would anyone bread stuffed pork chops when they contain bread
stuffing? I'm not frying the chops, I'm baking them in the oven.

Sheldon is drifting a bit. I don't know why he suddenly jumped to
breaded anything. The mention of stuffing, I suppose. :)

Sounds very interesting but it would be difficult for me to find
chestnuts for the stuffing.
