Not with Stoli, at least. It's made specifically for drinking Russian-
style (i.e., straight), and is pretty well useless for cooking. If you
*really* want to try cooking with vodka, swap for a couple bottles of
Smirnoff or some other middle-of-the-road vodka that's more suited to use
in cooking.

Of course, vodka per se really isn't made to cook with, since it has no
pronounced flavor of its own. My suggestion would be to swap your Stoli
to a vodka-drinking friend for a couple bottles of something else that you
like better.

You can add vodka to make alla Vodka sauce for pasta and pizza.

Should do nothing for flavor but helps keep the texture. I think it is
more the alcohol helping as an emulsifier than anything. Vodka sauce is
usually heavier with cheese , cream, olive oil

I've had it but never made it myself.

Soak 10 split vanilla beans in a plastic water bottle for 6 months. Give a shake now and then.
My bottle went 9 months before using. I have at least 12 oz to go. You can add more vodka as yo use the vanilla.

After 9 months, the alcohol on the immediate surface of the liquid could blind you if you drink it. Should you briefly put a paper napkin on the surface to soak up any bad alcohol?

It is vanilla for baking. What do you think happens to a bottle of stoli in a year?
That was an odd observation.
The immediate surface is the same as the middle and anywhere else.

That's 80% of RFC. You'll have to be more specific.

The OP from 1994 didn't mention Crystal Palace ;)

That's what I was thinking, except I'd use a glass bottle.

Fill a tall glass with ice cubes, add juice of half a lemon, fill
halfway with Crystal Palace Vodka, top up with Diet Sprite.
Very good with a kasha k'nish.

Nonsense/wive's tale/fake news

>Should you briefly put a paper napkin on the surface to soak up any bad alcohol?

No. Any methanol or other types of toxic alcohols are a non-issue in
commercially made spirits. Shake the bottle up if you're really
worried, but there'll never be enough toxic alcohols in the bottle to
cause a problem.
