Americans (at least) seem to be having real problems with the
recommended isolation this past year.

Saw a tip on the news this morning about how to stay mentally healthy.
If you were used to driving to work each day, but now you work at home,
just go for a morning drive each morning - same distance as to work,
then come home and go to work.

Too funny (and ridiculous).

What's it matter to you...you've NO friends or family to communicate with....your SOLE means of "companionship" is your lunatic ravings on this group...

You know the wrong people. I still converse with my friends and co-workers.

You might consider getting off Usenet and finding some real people.

No, just trying to renormalize in these times of human interpersonal communication breakdown!

One of their biggest problems seems to be with being told that they have
to stay in. A lot of them are normally couch potatoes, but tell them
that they have to stay inside and they will come up with 50 reasons why
they need to go out, why the isolation makes no sense and how they are
losing their freedom.

I keep in touch with a number of people and have spent more time on the
phone in the last few months than I have over the rest of my life. My
wife has a friend that comes along on our dog walk every morning. I
have seen enough of Kuthe's nonsense rants here to understand why it is
impossible to have intelligent conversation in his house.

You have no renters, thus you have no one to talk to. No renters,
no trips to the bank to deposit money. If you have a bicycle, go
for a ride. No bike, go for a walk.

Nope. You don't. You would have been yaking about every shift for
hundreds of lines of text. On and on.

Nope. No job. If he had a nursing job, there would have been
thousands of words in hundreds of posts, with all the details of
his work day.

He hasn't mentioned anything. Does that sound kuthlike to you?

What's wrong, didn't your "patient" talk to you when you were at work?

Apparently the people at work refused to talk to you, otherwise you
wouldn't be posting bullshit like this.

When he "first began living in Shared Student Living" he was a
marginally employed adult student. My impression of him is he's been a
professional student most of his adult life. He's the kind of child
"dad" doesn't want still living in his basement at the age of 35
dreaming of being a rock star. oh wait...

IMHO, phones and computers don't have anything to do with Kuthe's lack
of actual human contact. It is, perhaps, a lack of consideration which
might make people not want to interact with him in person. He
"flaunts". He flaunted his money to his almost g/f "April" at the bank.
That was when he was crowing about how rich he was.

Then there's thinking about it from his neighbors' POV. "Look at my
Pink and Purple Deck!" "Look at my copper!" Again, flaunting. Uh,
they really don't want to. They don't think it's cool. In fact the
neighborhood made him repaint the pink and purple deck.

He can't buy friends by spending the most money in the neighborhood to
fix up an old house. Or by proclaiming some Rainbow Tribe thing.

Kuthe's issue with not talking as "real people" isn't caused by
technology. It is a result of cause and effect.

Yes it is ridiculous. Much better to ride a bike for the same time as
the commute, rather than the same distance.
