No more Ground Beast or Ham. I'll figure out veggie subs for them!

Meat eaters always want to preach to non meat eaters. Even though it
makes much more sense when non meat eaters preach to the barbaric,
ruthless meat eaters.

Must be the artificial flavoring.

turmeric, garlic powder, onion powder, artificial flavoring."

Mushrooms are a pretty decent substitute in many dishes. At least
gives you the mouth feel somewhat.

Mr.Mustard is good stuff. I've had it before and it's on my
grocery list for next trip.

Without being on my list, I never think to look for it.

Good move. The world's seas are being over-fished and more vegetarians
will just exacerbate the problem. The biggest catch was in 1996 and it
has been declining since.

It is also painful to watch a fish taken out of water and left to die.

Vegan is the way to go if you care about life in the future.

He sure does. I've lived in a lot of places and met people from all
walks of life. The only ones I've encountered pushing an agenda when it
comes to food are the people who *don't* eat meat. I'm sure as hell not
trying to shove a nice tender (medium rare) steak down anyone's throat.

I have a friend who is a vegetarian. He's a nice guy. He doesn't rail
at me because I choose to eat meat. I don't try to convince him he
should eat meat. No skin off my nose what he eats. We get along just
fine. :)

Try going to a high fiber diet. Beans and other legumes in soups and stews
taste good even without meat if you use enough other flavorings such as
garlic, onions, etc. I rarely eat meat except in the occasional sandwich.

meat (red meat, poultry, seafood, and the flesh of any other animal)"

Fox News showed part of the interview :) Nevada lives on tourism. We are
hurting where I live too. Personally, I think it’s too soon to open the
establishments, and, I think, so does the Governor. Hell, he’s a
Democrat!
Certain states are going to ease restrictions real soon. I’d rather wait
to see how they do. Casinos are as infectious as Mardi Gras. People from
everywhere are in a confined space. Although casinos have excellent
ventilation systems, again, I’d rather wait.
I’m retired and have much less to lose monetarily than many as the days
tick by. By current thinking, I have much more to lose age wise, so we’ll
see.

I saw something amusing on FaceBook to the effect that having some

Actually, the republicans and a lot of democrats would like to get you believe that the states have a right to declare bankruptcy as a way to stop the waste of money going to people that don't deserve it. The poor white trash just love to hear that kind of dirty talk. They couldn't spot a scam if it slapped them in the face nor can they see a huckster stealing them blind. The best scam in the world is to have people scream 4 more years! while separating them from their wealth. I guess we now know who the real chumps are.

This evening, I'm having a mess of green beans with Garlic Potatoes all over them and some beans and rice. Beans and rice provide complementary but individually incomplete amino acids, and together get me the complete set of dietary amino acids we need. I'm a nurse, I took a 3 credit hour class in Nutrition and have the textbook in my kitchen, for reference if needed.

Your not a nurse.  You might have a nursing degree but you are not a nurse.

Brown rice?

Shit, John. Everybody knows that. I knew that 50 years ago.

Wow. Three whole credit hours.

You're Scientific Cindy. Many RFC'ers are clueless. Take Sheldon or
cshenkie.

Sarcasm noted.

I learned that in primary school. I thought most people did.

Did you learn in primary school that beans and rice provide
complementary but individually incomplete amino acids, and together
get you the complete set of dietary amino acids you need?

Yes. But I attended a fairly good school. It wasn't so much 'beans and
rice' as 'grains and legumes'.
I would have learned it at home, though, if my school hadn't provided
that information.

Yes I am asshole Alex! Once a nurse, always a nurse.

Ask any nurse!

You're always welcome to shove one down my throat, Jill! :-D

Here's a funny. My stepdaughter (lives in the SF bay area)
is a vegetarian and doesn't preach it. She comes for a visit
about once every 3-4 years.

When she does come, she always requests a "Dad chicken dinner
with all the works." (Think a traditional Thanksgiving dinner
only using chicken rather than turkey). heh heh

The first time she requested that, I just *had* to ask.
It's her "vacation back east treat." The only time she
eats meat. Funny girl.

I'll send you a virtual steak, Gary. Or a nice medium rare burger with
all the fixin's. Would you like fries with that? ;)

Yeah, it's funny! The same vegetarian friend I mentioned drove me to an
appointment in Savannah back in 2018 (the reason is unimportant). He
got hungry while he was waiting for me so he went to McDonald's and
ordered a sausage, egg & cheese biscuit. I guess even vegetarians
sometimes fall off the wagon. ;)

Yes ma'am. My favorite steak dinner is medium-rare ribeye with
salty shoestring fries and a pile of loose whole corn with
butter.

Fries with burgers too. :)

I've had their sausage (only) biscuits a couple of times and they
are
pretty darn tasty. Not so healthy for the body but
the taste buds sure do like them. They need a treat occasionally
too. They *are* part of the body. Can't ignore them.

Thing about me is that I do like almost everything. For that
reason, I don't eat much of anything as there is so much more
tasty things to eat. Many of my favorite meals, I haven't
made in several years.
