The protests are spreading like wildfire across the country.
Learned this morning that there was one at the oceanfront
last night, not far from me.
It finally got out of control and all available police
showed up and even had to toss tear gas into the crowd.

WTH? All this happened so nearby while I was reading and
watching tv.

Funniest thing I saw on the news....so the tear gas thing
happened around midnight or so. The video showed the
crowd running away from the tear gas. Right in front of
the running crowd was 3 young chunky women only dressed
in bikini's.

Who the hell dresses like that at night? So I looked up
my weather history. At that time, the temp was about 55f.
Very chilly and those girls needed more clothes on than
just bathing suits. Odd as hell protest people.

That's rich coming from someone who posts a running commentary of life in
Austin, TX. Even from a continent away I feel as if I know all the trivia
and local news in your area.

There's no need for anyone to visit Austin because there's a live feed
here.

I thought Sqwertz only posted about his overly rich food here, apart
from a lot of bile and anger. I don't know anything about Austin.
Don't they have a good music festival there?

Maybe you didn't see Squirt's pictures of the local Costco, a deer in the
woods, the stream at the back of his garden, and so on in addition to his
descriptions of life there and his Covid populations counts.

Austin sees itself as the cultured part of Texas and holds events like
SXSW which you may be thinking about. I used to go to visit Dell's
headquarters.

What do YOU wear to protest?

When I was in the Army at Ft Hood, I was walking across the campus
of The University of Texas in Austin and looked up and immediately
recognized the tower that Charles Whitman fired from. The same thing
happened the next weekend. I was in a car with some friends coming
into Dallas on I35 and immediately recognized the old school book
depository and the window that Oswald fired from.

Not forgetting the Mount Carmel remains at Waco as you passed by. :)

I had been out of the Army many years and was living in Phoenix when
that happened.

We have had protests on this rock as is happening in other places in the world. I wouldn't expect any burning and looting. This ain't that kind of place.
