Hey, everyone, have a good beginning of a week! I've most often baked
with Hershey's brand Special Dark dry cocoa powder and sometimes I mix
it with the Kroger brand. I'm quite pleased with the results but I'm
wondering if it's worth it to try some of the finer brands (Guittard,
ValrhonaDroste, Ghiradelli ). Any thoughts?

I have good old Hersheys, Ghiradelli (this stuff, I think: <https://www.ghirardelli.com/100-unsweetened-ground-cocoa-%288-oz%29-61703cs>) and both the regular and Dutch-process Penzeys cocoa. I am unable to tell you if one is better than the the others; they all seem to work fine in the cakes, cookies, and hot chocolate drinks I've made.

Dammit. Now I've got the jones for a childhood favorite: Snow-on-the-Mountain cookies (what my mother and her mother called 'em.)

This recipe looks about right:

I hear and read about all these fancy brands, then I buy Fry's.

I still have some of their items I haven't used up yet. Their cocoa
used to be sold in one pound amounts at the price they charge for 1/2
pounds now, the same with their adobo. However I now buy spices at
BJs and from Amazon. I haven't bought Penzeys cocoa or anything else
they sell for about ten years now, it may not be as good anymore. I'll
likely never buy from Penzeys again, those faggots no longer have a
printed catalogue, that made it easy for me to choose all the items I
wanted... their faggot website is very clumsy. Getting rid of their
printed catalogue was a very ignoranus business decision. Their long
time customers will soon forget they exist.

Their newer customers won't care. Paper catalogs are so 20th Century.
I don't even bring them into the house. Right into the recycle cart.

No, but Sheldon's a bit stuck in a rut. He has a mild version of what
you have.

But don't worry. It's better to be obsessed with being Jewish than to
be turned on by cow udders.
