I've finally found a loophole to get City Code Enforcement off my
ass. I'm starting a lemongrass plantation NOT for commercial
purposes. The snakes and lizards are gonna love this too while the
insects will hate he citronelle-like oils and scents.

Meet the pioneering mothers of Sqwertz'z Lemongrass plantation
($3.49 at the Asian grocery store that gave me $1,000 to stay away
- I forgot about that - sosueme)

Look at them feelers, ready to dig in. I just hope they can
overtake the garlic because it doesn't grow fast and wide enough
for City Code Enforcement protection.

Ask me how my evil plan worked out in 10 years. I love lemongrass
in the meantime. I hear its highly invasive like the more
aggressive bamboos.

In article <nz0gyn81hvwl$.d...@sqwertz.com>,
sqwe...@gmail.compost says...
I must try that. How long did it take in the water, to
sprout roots?

Lemon grass freezes very well, wrapped in plastic. So
does fresh ginger root.

Doesn't like hard freezes. Like the past two years.

That picture was after 8 days. Today at 11 days they're 2.5X as
long. It's kinda freaky.

Now I just gotta figure out to plant them in July Texass without
shocking the shit out of them.

Part of my OOC settlement with this same grocery store was to give
me 3-lbs of their frozen chopped lemongrass. I use that mostly to
make iced tea (along with ginger and sometimes allspice).

I always had flats their chopped frozen lemongrass - I hate
peeling and chopping that stuff. I had to "sneak" back in there
jut to get these fresh stalks, though (which was a 3rd degree
felony offense until December 25th 2023 if I were to be 'caught').

Yeah, I'm gonna put 2 of them into portable planters. And let the
other one fend for itself just to see...

Good to see you're still lurking, all things considered

BTW: MT <cough> super <cough> market - of all the glowing usenet
(and reddit) reviews and Vietnamese foods I've posted over the
past 15 years, we've parted ways.
