That sounds much better than the other menu!! Can you choose from this menu
to take food away?

Yes, for dinner. There are other menus from a couple of other dining
rooms but I don't feel like copy/pasting them at the moment.

Then don't do that thing:)) Do you like this menu better than the 'fancy'
one? Only you know how good they are at cooking the stuff on that menu but
it does look much better. If it comes down to it, you can always fill up
your wine cellar <g>

Interesting that they call this "Cottage Pie" when officially it's
"Shepherds Pie," at least to all the Europeans here. I got yelled at
once for using the term "Shepherd's Pie" when I used ground beef for
the meat.

Thanks Jill for posting the 2 menus. I can see why you don't really
care to eat there, but you have to so.....oh well.

Even *I* make that distinction, Gary. :) I was in downtown Beaufort a
few years back and noticed Shepherd's Pie featured as a lunch special at
one of the restaurants. I was hungry so I went on in. Before ordering,
I specifically asked what they made it with. They said lamb and I said
OK! (It was delicious, BTW.)

There are other dining rooms but my fingers didn't feel like
copy/pasting and adjusting the line-wrapping.

Heh! That, at least, is lamb-based. Very interesting, because the
error is usually calling a beef-based dish "Shepherd's Pie".

Shepherds Pie works for me either way. My English grandmother made
Shepherds Pie with beef.... usually leftover beef. The price on this
one looks a little steep. A local restaurant has Sheperds Pie (with
beef) on the dinner menu for $14.

Yep. Their menus are comical.

Good point, Jean. I don't know if they're striving for a neutral name
for the dish or what. At least it generates some food discussions. :)

Those prices range from reasonable anywhere to ridiculous.

$18 for a plate of baked rigatoni? Is there gold in that bolognese sauce?
That's what I mean by ridiculous.

The ravioli seems like a decent value, an interesting dish that could cost
more at many restaurants.

Knowing the price of Halibut, if they don't f*** it up, if it's not freezer
burnt old crap, and it's a reasonable size protion, then it's an upscale but
not unreasonable price for a decent restaurant.

Pork Chop (noting that it's duroc, ok, five-six buck a pound pork) $26 is
ridiculous for ONE (it is singular) pork chop.

Chicken parmesan... just... zzzzzzzzz.... boring.

$12 for fish and chips isn't bad for an upscale pub or decent restaurant,
it's about $8-10 at a good quality bar and grill around here.

That it does. I need to catch up on the yummy offerings there but am
doing a first pass now to weed out some dreck.

OMG! This is really old.
