I told him that the RFC group (what?).... the usenet group.... you
know, the rec.food.cooking group? (Oh, Yeah) was worried about him
since he usually posts dozens of times a day. I said they were
making up all sorts of crazy stories about what happened to you.

He's cooking garlic potatoes for breakfast and I could hear him
chopping in the background. I told him that's not his "Standard
breakfast, I thought it Asiago cheese bagel from Panera?".

He says Google won't allow him to post. After a few more questions I
said it sounded like his browser lost his login cookies and he just
needed to manually log in on the upper right again. He said it
always did it for him automatically.

I also found out that he has a degree in computer engineering school
and has been on the internet since ARPANET days. He has a really old
Windows XP laptop and a Mac-in-trash, and something about "Steve
Gates", but never once did he ask me who I was. I asked him,
"You're not at all curious who this is calling you?" (twice) - He
brushed that off and I re-iterated my technical support advice to
just log in manually, that I'd let everybody know he's still alive,
and we all wished him well. "OK, Bye!"

EOS. I shit you not.

I think we should all give him a call! You won't regret it!

I wonder what his version of your phone discussion will be.

It would be the exact same - I even recorded it in case he went ape.
But seeing as how it was, I would never post it to satisfy your nor
anybody else's assholyness. I even dumbed it down a little in text.
It was very cordial.

I did not ask him about his taxes nor his roof.

That is not what I meant. I was curious how he would recall that phone
conversation, not what the facts were. His recollections are likely to
be far more interesting than the facts.

See?

Glad you got your computer working again.

I was surprised that you sounded exactly like Ving Rhames. I was
expecting you to say, "We HAVE The Meats!"

Oops! Egg in your face, eh? It sometimes helps to sit on your
suspicions for a few minutes or hours before you make an ass of
yourself.

Go ahead, ask him.... Was it not a cordial call, John?

No egg on my face. And I raised no issue re the matter of it being
cordial.

The simple fact that you doubted the context of conversation as
stated was enough for the egg. Let alone implying it wasn't cordial.

So what are YOU having for breakfast other than eggs? I'm having
those pressed oval hash browns.

OK, that could have been it. I thought it was in the context of your
XP Laptop, so I heard "Gates". But first I heard "Steve..." and I
may have gotten a bit skittish. I was getting ready to say "Ed"....

Nah, I was actually kinda wanting to tell him you I was Sqwertz. But
you didn't give me any room and I let it go :-)

No comment other than I'm laughing!!! Well, just one comment.

I'm surprised with that computer engineering degree (?) he couldn't
figure it out to just to sign in again.

John, when "STEVE WERTZ" called you, did he regale you with erotic stories, or maybe even ask you for a date...???

IMWTK...!!!

Even with an explanation, you just have to play the victim. Have at it
and enjoy yourself.

"Taxed and Spent" didn't say anything of the sort. He wondered if John's
recall of the conversation would be the same as the manic account you
posted.

For all John's faults, I expect his account would be more grounded than
yours as you seem to be as high as a kite.

John Kuthe may have a somewhat selective interpretation of reality but
Squirt's self-aggrandising accounts are decidedly out of this world.

Whatever SW's issues, I have never witnessed him dressed in women's clothes, wandering around the parking lot of the Brentwood Promenade, obviously tripping on acid. Some folks couldn't handle major hallucinogens even when they were young. These days, I stick to expensive beer and cheap wine.
