pastel meringue pie?

Do you believe our local supermarket was actually trying to sell lemon
meringue pies tinted in two lovely easter shades-pastel purple and pastel
pink? Needless to say, they were not a very big seller. Even the cashier
commented that she hadn't seen one come through the checkout all day!Go
figure.

Okay, red and blue added might make lavender, but how does one make a yellow
pie, pink? Adding red would make it orange.

Take out the yellow I'd think. The yellow in a LM pie comes from the
egg yolk and/or food colouring (former for real, latter probably for
anything bought in a supermarket).
