Went to the Missouri State Fair yesterday. The aroma of livestock mixed with
deep fryer oil was everywhere.

I allowed a one day moratorium on low carbs, but all I ended up with was a
corn dog and a freshly squeezed cherry limeade.

Actually both were a bit disappointing. The limeade wasn't sweet enough and
the corn dog just lacked flavor and crispness even though it was hand dipped
( I saw it) and fresh. It seem like the corn coating needed salt, or the hot
dog lacked flavor. To get a "jumbo" corn dog, they ran half a hot dog
followed by a full hot dog on the stick. Probably cheaper than buying long
jumbos.

I was going to sample more fair food after we wandered a bunch of exhibits,
but the sun came out in lthe later afternoon and suddenly it was mid-90s and
that killed my appetite.

However I did sample some beef stroganoff which had just been prepared at a
show sponsored by a beef producers organization. They used ground beef and
put La Costena brand Salsa Verde in it, and served it over noodles with
tomatoes and avocado on the side. Odd, to say the least.

Back to real food.

No, it came with a cup of cooked rice, but I told them to hold the rice.

It definitely stretched the term "artistic license".

So what if it was called Beef, Stroganoff Style? Does that make it legal?
