When I got my new microwave oven,I got a bright idea;cook the turkey
giblets(for stuffing) in the microwave! It never occurred to me about the
membrane on them!! After a little while,I hear 'poom-poom-poom',turn to look
at the MW,and stuff was dripping down the window! After opening the oven, all
the giblets were just bits splattered all over the inside. So much for
stuffing that turkey! One more lesson learned!

Jim Yanik,very amateur cook.

This happens to me every time I try that. Why, please, can someone tell
me? I've tried it with giblets from everything from Cornish hens to
turkeys, tried covering the dish, not covering it, adding water, not
adding water...what can I do?

MEB, whose husband isn't a giblet fan & who therefore never makes giblet
stock or gravy, just wants to nuke the hearts & livers for her own
consumption...

I put all the giblets in a pan of water (to cover) and a glob of butter, along
with some chicken boullion, and let it simmer on top the stove for about half
a day (that's when I'm using them in stuffing).

I boil the giblets and serve them to the dog.

Suggestion from a Microwave-cooker of 20ought years...
Use full power-level only for a very short time. Then go to a med to
low power!!!! Works every time. I've even used this to raise yeast
bread.
