This happens to me every time I try that. Why, please, can someone tell
me? I've tried it with giblets from everything from Cornish hens to
turkeys, tried covering the dish, not covering it, adding water, not
adding water...what can I do?
MEB, whose husband isn't a giblet fan & who therefore never makes giblet
stock or gravy, just wants to nuke the hearts & livers for her own
consumption...

I put all the giblets in a pan of water (to cover) and a glob of butter, along
with some chicken boullion, and let it simmer on top the stove for about half
a day (that's when I'm using them in stuffing).
