Growing up, decades ago, we always had Ritz crackers in the house. Some
years later, I tried Town House and that became the staple snack cracker in
our household. Last week I was in a store that only had Ritz so I pick up
a box figuring "close enough". Finally had a couple of them and while a
good flavor, the salt hit me hard. Reading the nutritional value of each it
is only 130 versus 135, but it hits you differently. Must be more on the
top to reach the tongue first. Too much for my taste, I'm going back to Town
House and the more buttery flavor.

Look for the low sodium Ritz, I like the Whole Wheat ones myself.

We had both in the house when I was growing up, but Ritz was usually
for snacking and often with cheese, while the Town House was usually
eaten with soup.

I buy Rith occasionally now, but I get the multi-grain version.

I very seldom find anything too salty.

Love Kavli, the multigrain one is really good.

I like both. But you're right, the original Ritz is more salty on the top.
I like salt (and have no health problems related to alleged salt intake) so
it doesn't bother me. But they do make a lower-salt Ritz which is still
nice. Town House crackers are definitely more buttery tasting. I'm pretty
sure it's not butter they're using to make them taste like that ;)

You can get low salt and low fat versions of Ritz.

I don't think Ritz crackers taste like they used to years ago. When
I was growing up in the 70s I never did care for the taste of Ritz
crackers, but I liked Town House. I think the Ritz crackers today are
closer in flavor to Town House than they used to be.

I'm a Kavli lover too - except for the thin ones since they're
practically transparent. I like the ones in the blue box and the rye
ones.

You either? The only thing I've ever seen people put salt on that I
don't like salt on is watermelon.

I agree and also prefer Townhouse to Ritz. Ritz is harder, more salty

Sometimes. I take a medication in the morning that should be taken with
food. A couple of mornings a week I eat breakfast at work so I'll eat two
or three crackers to hold me over until I get there 30 minutes later.

Nice! I'm not a real fan of blue cheese so would have likely used
Havarti.

Good snack plate! Including that pickled egg. ;-)

I used to buy T.H. years ago and after reading this thread, thought I'd
try them again.

In a local market yesterday I looked. Ritz were on sale for $2.49 (they
are ALWAYS on sale.) T.H. same size box were $4.99. Huh? Ritz will do
nicely.

OUCH, I've never paid that much. They are often on sale here for $2.50.
Keep an eye out for them.

Before I'll eat Ritz or Town House I'll eat potato chips... and Ritz
and Town house are the Pringles of crackers.

I much prefer Triscuits... a substantial cracker and great flavors:

I much prefer townhouse over Ritz, but will only buy them while on sale because here in Washington state,a box of TH runs about $4-$5.00's. Not paying five bucks for crackers.
