Hot Brown Sandwich
Roasted turkey breast served on an open faced
hoagie roll topped with sliced tomato
and Swiss cheese sauce

Frankly, I'm surprised they've heard of this hot open-faced sandwich.
No mention of also being topped with crisp (streaky!) bacon, though,
which is traditional.

But why do they always use breads that are not traditional?

Beats me, Julie. Texas toast would be closer to the original, which was
served on thick sliced toasted white bread.

Your version mentioned here with TX toast, not a sub roll, or the way
you wrote it in anecdotes makes me hungry for this sandwich! Yum!
