Good for you. Try to hang onto it and don't make any stupid comments to
jeopardize it. I know it will be hard to keep your trap shut, but you can
do it if you concentrate. And no coming onto to other staff or the patients.

John sabotaged his other job chances but posting idiotic and stupid
things about his life online. Nobody called any nursing agency and said
"hey, took a look at this!!" All they had to do was key his name into any
search engine on the planet and they get an eye-popping example of his
daily life.

Just how do you think anyone here sabotaged him when we had no idea what
agency he had applied to for a job until he posted that information?? Use
your head besides something to keep your ears apart; it's John who continually
shoots himself in the foot in the job market.

I'll be there to do the job of a nurse, in a rehabilitation skilled nursing facility. I have done this kind of nursing before and I know how to do it well. I'll also have to learn their computerized charting software. my first few paid days will be much formal learning, then after that I hit the ground running, so to speak. That's what a prospective employer wants to see.  Keep it up!

Normal people pay attention and ask the obvious questions like "what are
the benefits you offer?"  Every interview I have had, with every
employee I have hired, includes our 401K, group health plan, free
dental/LTD/life insurance package, vacation and holiday pay policy,
etc.  Most of those benefits are outlined in the ad itself.  What is
boring about that?  Your attention to detail is pathetic.  I guess you
can't expect much from a guy who drives his car into his own house.

Many interviewers will ask that question and you gave the proper
answer. You should never name a figure.

1) If you name a low price, they might not even hire you
as you don't know what the job is worth
2) Or they might hire you and be happy to pay you less
than what they would have offered.
3) If you name a price too high, they'll still only offer
what they are willing to pay.

Thanks for posting that.

So you started working for yourself...your own business and it's
still going. Maybe too nosey but I'll ask. What do you do now
on your own? If that's TMO, nevermind. I always enjoy reading
about a success story.

Interesting stastistic I read many years ago:
Of all new start-up businesses, 95% of them close within
the first year.

Of the remaining 5%, most of them close within the next
5 years. Whatever you do (or have you switched occasionally)
has kept you going for 30 years now. You win.

I produce text. It doesn't make me rich, but I can do it anywhere
where I have Internet and I don't have to go to work or set an alarm.
When I moved to Australia, I brought my work with me. "Same crap,
different crapper", as a neighbour described it.

Yes, we know that. I reckon you make a decent wage with your
ingredient lists.

You also produce other things too.
