Has anyone ever used Velveeta on Pizza? Is it good?

When I was a kid my mom used to buy those Chef Boyardee pizza kits, the
ones that come with dough, tomato sauce and parmesan cheese and she'd
add velveeta and sliced hot dogs.

If Velveeta alone isn't good on pizza, it might be good if it was combined
with something else.
I have made soooooo many dishes for parties, get togethers and
everyone always raves about them. The secret ingredient that I NEVER
tell is Velveeta. Too many food snobs wrinkle their noses and then
make phoney gagging sounds that the revelation is not worth the
theatrical dramatics.
One of my favorites is a cheeseburger pizza with browned ground, whole
slices of garden fresh tomatoes and layering with Velveeta. Put the
Velveeta on at the very last....it melts too quickly and will burn.

Velveeta on the bottom.

Sliced tomatoes on pizza, beneath a layer of cheese, sounds delicious.
Not on pizza, but here's a little snack I make:
Make some toast in the toaster.
Put one slice of tomato on each piece of toast.
Then put one slice of Velveeta on top of that.
Put them into the microwave for 15 to 30 seconds but not a bit more.
Serve hot.

I'm with you on that. Velveeta's melting quality is what makes it so
attractive for dips and other things. It's certainly not necessary
for pizza.

Interesting recipe. There's a layer of mozzarella on top, a layer of
Velveeta on the bottom, and a layer of sauce in between. I think I'll try
cheddar on the bottom next time, and only a cup of sauce.
When we were kids we would make mini pizzas using lightly toasted
bread, a can of tomato sauce with some oregano added to it, and
Velveeta cheese. They were actually quite good. Velveeta melts
faster than other cheeses and will burn if you're not careful. If you
do make a Velveeta cheese pizza I would leave the Velveeta cheese off
until the last 3 to 5 minutes.
