I got an e-mail today from the USPS informing me my test will be delivered
by Monday, February 7. I clicked on the tracking number and it says it's
to be delivered today. Have you received yours or gotten a notice that
it's been mailed?

Thanks, darlin', I got the same and should be here today or tomorrow (we have some 'snow' delay)...

You're welcome!

Right after I posted that I got another message from Uncle Sam saying it would
be delivered today (uh yeah, I just checked the tracking number). Then a few
minutes later here comes the mail carrier.

My test was negative and I was sure it would be. There's three left if I should
feel the need to take it another one.

So you immediately tested yourself? Feeling bad?
Why would anyone immediately test themselves just for the hell of it?
You wasted one.

This obsession with constantly getting tested is the oddest thing about
the current panicdemic. All citizens gone nuts.

Long before Covid, annual flu shots were recommended but I never heard
of testing kits in all those years.

Gary, you have consistently demonstrated how dismally ignorant and
uninformed you are about covid, covid vaccination, and now, covid
testing.

Many people are *required* to covid-test for numerous reasons

testing.html#who-should-get-tested.

Plus, you can have covid without (m)any symptoms. I could imagine
taking the test just once out of curiosity.

Jumping to conclusions... she may have had to test for work (I can't
remember if Joan's retired) or something else. Perhaps she has a cold?
Your post came off as rather offensive, is what I'm saying.

I know a guy who has to go to see his mother in an old age home every
night and he has to get tested once or twice a week. Health care and
long term care workers who are not vaccinated have to do the same.

There are no all kinds of people in that position and its getting harder
to get a test. Now I am starting to wonder if maybe some of those
people who have been getting tested do often and had so many tests maybe
it's time to give someone else a chance.

Since it was free, why not take the test?? I was 99 44⁄100% sure it would be
negative and no, I was not feeling bad. Who knows? I might not ever take
another Covid test. Does that bother you?

Every year I do a test that is quite similar to the Covid test but it's a colon
cancer test. I don't feel bad nor sick when I take that test and thankfully
it's always been negative. Does that bother you, too??

Covid.

Get busy and work on a flu test for the country. It will make you feel better
and perhaps deflate some of that sanctimonious attitude.

That's Gary's standard mode of operation; jump to conclusions then
lecture everybody.

No, I'm retired and actually I was just curious what the result would be.

This will probably get his BVD's in a bunch but I plan on asking for one
of the free N95 masks, too. I rarely wear a mask, but if they're going to
give one away I'll take it.

Today's test shows negative. Be sure to take one every day.

And actually, my daughter has bought a few of those home tests. Cost was
about $30 or so. They tell you to take one, then do it again 2 days
later even if it was negative on the first one. The 4 test kit is free
this one time...only one kit per household. After the free one, Big
Pharma wins again with all the scared citizens.

Joan doesn't work and I did ask if she was feeling bad. My intention
wasn't to be offensive (although, pay attention...Joan and I banter back
and forth often).

I'm expecting the free test kit (4 count) soon myself. I signed up the
2nd day, not the first. I won't try one just for the heck of it. I'll
wait until I need to use one.

I threw mine away when Ohio lifted the mandate last summer. All of the
ones that I had were ones that a business or otherwise forced me to take
upon walking in the door, I never bought one ;)

Count me in as a scared citizen. Most of the patients at my wife's hospital unit has it. My wife has to wear full protective gear at work. A staff with an office in the unit has tested positive. She didn't have contact with any patients but she didn't wear any protection and she kept the door to her office open. That was probably a mistake. Some people feel that the virus is being spread through the hospital's ventilation system.
From where I'm sitting, it seems almost inevitable that we'll be infected. On a positive note, the numbers of new infections at her hospital are going down.

Big Pharma will win nothing from me as I never bought one of the tests
and I'm not going to start now with constant testing.

It's pointless to do so, why would you want to be tested if you feel
OK? Fear?
