Do you have any other boxes of cake mix around? If so then look at
those to see what you add to them and then do the same with the
gingerbread cookie mix. I believe most of them usually say 1/3 cup
oil, 3 eggs, and
1 1/2 cups of water. If you're unsure about all this then take the
gingerbread cookie mixes back to the store and get the right item.
Did you read the entire package? Sometimes those mixes will have
different directions on them in case you want to make something other
than the main product.
I forgot to mention one. Make sure the package of gingerbread cookie
mix and the package of cake mix you're using as a guide are
approximately the same weight. Otherwise, you'll have to adjust the
amounts of the added ingredients.
Thanks so much for the solution! The weight's are within one ounce
of each other, but after all my consternation (and your help), I've
decided to use the mix for my usually- made-from-scratch Christmas
gingercream cookies, and bake some real gingerbread for this upcoming
occasion :))
