A Tennessee family is in mourning during Christmastime after a neighbor strangled to death one of its pet kangaroos.

“We love these animals like they’re our kids, marsupial owner Chris Lea told News 4 Nashville. “He didn’t deserve to be choked and strangled to death.”

According to the unnamed kangaroo killer, he had to take down Carter, Lea’s 5-foot tall, 60-pound roo, after the animal charged at his wife.

The neighbor called Lea as the horrific incident unfolded.

“And he says, ‘I’m strangling the kangaroo now. He grabbed my wife. I’m going to kill him. He’s dangerous. Y’all need to keep your (expletive) animals contained,’” Lea recounted to the local media outlet.

But, Lea maintained, Carter never left his property and was still within his perimeter fence. He believes the neighbors had come onto his property to help get Carter back into his normal enclosure.

Lea’s wife, Hope, told News 2 WKRN she had just delivered a gift basket to the neighbor a day earlier after learning he had the flu.
“I was just so upset because I love my neighbors,” she said.

No charges have been filed but Chris Lea told News 4 he’s considering a civil lawsuit.

Did you have a good Christmas, Graham? Some friends of mine dropped by
yesterday. I was gifted a large bag of wild bird seed <G> and some
wine. I got gifts of wine from other friends, too. Reisling, Sauvignon
Blanc and Pinot Grigio. I gifted my friends with peanut brittle. :) I
work M-Thu. The man I work with took me to lunch on Thursday for
"Christmas" then gave me the rest of the day off with pay. :)

Living alone doesn't have to mean being isolated or lonely. John paints
himself into a corner.

Yes I did, despite the horrendously cold weather. I made the annual
seafood lasagne and took it, along with wine and a stack of cookies and
almond tarts to my son's house and spent an enjoyable evening with the
family. I caught up on all the news. Grand-daughter at uni and grandson
applying for next fall.
Though I will have to watch the cholesterol intake next week:-(

yesterday which is about normal. I have all the ingredients on hand in
the freezer including so-called Dover Sole, to make your seafood

My only advice is to make at least 50% more of the sauce, I make double
the amount so I have some left over and I will use it to make a
Fisherman's Pie, topped with mashed potato. Every lasagne recipe I have
ever followed never had enough sauce. Yesteday's turned out a bit sloppy
but was still delicious. I think I should have drained the chopped tomatoes.
I used the shrimps from one of those cocktail rings but didn't cook them
with the scallops but added them at the construction phase.

Well, maybe true as a general rule, but there are some
exceptions.

A local sub shop sells tuna and cheese subs that are to die for. My
favorite choice. Don't know what cheese they use but it's not cheddar.

Then I have recipe for crab with mild cheddar (Old English cheese) that
is my favorite crab recipe (and I've tried many).
I'll repost the recipe if anyone asks.

or so for a thorough inspection before closing. If he'd done that, they'd
have discovered the roof issues, and he'd have found out that the house
needed $125k of roof repair.

I've heard of manic people doing things like that. Extreme neat freaks,
etc... they scrub until their skin is raw, but they are never "clean".
A similar condition causes people to "pick" imperfections out of their
skin... those people usually end up with horrible little scars all over

Well, I just fully depreciated one this evening. Maybe from $750 down
to $250 scrap value. My poor little white Geo convertible slid off the
side of the wet pavement driving down an unfamiliar hill a few hours
ago, around a sharp bend. There were no turn arrows or guard rail...
the sharp bend came up quick, and I locked up the brakes and slid off
the road into into a stump, up a hill.

That's the car that I usually drive to Minnesota, Florida, etc. Guess I
need a new plan for early April when I'm set to drive to Pensacola, FL.
The wrecker that AAA sent pulled it out, and the lazy driver insisted
that I could drive it home. I guess the coolant leaked out, then I
pegged the temp gauge driving up my hill. Won't start now, and I walked
the rest of the way home. RIP.

There is Swiss cheese and there is Swiss cheese. I never liked it
because all I ever had was the crap from the deli counter that had the
taste and texture of wax. Once I tried some real stuff, changed my mind.

I occasionally polish off the last couple of slices in a package if I think it's about
to go bad. I strongly prefer genuine Gruyere from Switzerland. Matter of fact,
my husband likes Gruyere as well. I'm not sure how he decides which to eat
on any given occasion.

Most cars have cast iron blocks with alloy heads these days. I used to have a Hyundai Sonata with an alloy block and heads. Back in the 70's that would have been considered to be exotic. The Toyotas I have now are iron blocks with alloy head. Nothing exciting going on there!

convertible Geo is parked in my storage unit, and I keep one car parked
on the street in front of the other house that I own. It gets switched
out from time to time.

An acre really isn't that much. Your current lot is probably somewhere
around 1/8 to 1/4 of an acre. "And a barn" makes it likely you'd end up
having to buy a much bigger parcel of land.

There is a house two blocks from me that had a major remodel about 2
years ago. The white trash that lived there for years had about a dozen
junky ass cars sitting around. Codes would come out and threaten them
and they'd shuffle them around like they had been driven. The place looks
sooooooo much better after the junks were hauled off, yard cleaned, and
house gutted and remodeled.

I'm enjoying my carport for sure. I do have a garage but it's too small for
a full-size car. Maybe it'd be ok for a Volkswagen or something just as
small.

I currently have 0.16 acres per the auditors website. That includes my
parcel, and a tiny L-shaped sliver that I own adjacent to it. I suppose
that's more than an 8th of an acre, but it is far closer to 1/8 than 1/4.

I'd be fine with a few acres, but I don't want a Sheldon sized lot if it
all has to be mowed. I think my father has close to 2 acres, and that
is plenty enough. It takes a few hours to mow it on garden
tractor/riding mower.

I looked up an old 1830's farmhouse with a barn near me. It's
apparently sitting on 15 acres... which is overkill for what it is,
except that it used to be a grain farm, so not so. Tax on land isn't
cheap in my county, surprisingly. His lot is valued over $60K and for
that and the house value (which isn't much more) the total taxes come to
over $2k/year.
