Gotta streaming channel fer Chinese cooking. It's got 26 recipes fer
refried rice. None of them is by a Chinese person!

No kidding. Buncha white folks, buncha Indian folks, but no Chinese
ppl (unless you count the ONE person that is mostly wht and Korean(?)
mix). Even one Greek guy!

Anywho, some good recipes. One is even Fried rice, w/ no rice! Uses
bits of cauliflower, instead (FP).

I'll prolly make shrimp fried rice, tomorrow. Not hungry enough,
today. Got all the ingedients, except fresh ginger. Got ginger
pwdr, though.

Told you so! ;)

You should get along just fine with people who like riced cauliflower.
I love cauliflower but I don't pretend it's rice. Red beans &
cauliflower just doesn't have the same ring to it... ;)

I really enjoy cauliflower if I have not had it for a while. Then I
have it once and and lose interest in having it again for a long time.
My wide sometimes buys it when she does the shopping. I don't think I
have every picked it up on my own.... That being said. I have sliced it
up and smothered it in yogurt and curry powder and then grilled it....
very tasty.

The only time I've had cauliflower is raw pieces in
a salad. The only good part was the salad dressing
coating them. ;)

I like fresh cauliflower in season, I separate the flowets and eat
them raw as crudites with a dipping dressing, or marinated... I think
cooking cauliflower ruins it. And it's too expensive to make into
tiny bits pretending it's rice, it's NOT RICE!

Meant to ask, I know refried beans but what is refried rice?

I don't have a clue. I was assuming they just meant fried rice but I've
never heard of it being fried again.

But there is a Chinese restaurant here that serves rice noodles and I could
just draw up a chair and make my meal out on those alone. Sooooo good.

Cauliflower is kind of a weak and watery vegetable. That's why
I prefer to roast or grill it. Brings out its best characteristics.

That's it. Boiling it is a ticket back to the 50s.
