Along with my hat it's part of my marketing/advertising program,
besides being a practical shooting accessory. How is it connected to
marketing or advertising? I live in northern Thailand's most visited
tourist destination. It's the end of the track for the railroad going
north. It's a very small town, but during 'high season' is packed
with tourists. Imagine a Thai version of Key West, without the
limitations of the ocean, surrounded by mountain jungle filled with
ethnic hill tribes, wild life, and amazing culture. The area is a
travel/nature/people photographer's dream come true with dozens of
shooting venues of every sort. I run this 1/2 page color
advertisement http://www.photoenvisions.com/Advert.htm in 8 different
free tourist guide magazines given out in the airport, hotels and
guest houses. I also have it on the walls all over town. You can't
be here for more than a day without seeing it a dozen times. So when
I walk down the street wearing the vest and hat, carrying a camera
bag, not a day goes by that one or two people say 'hey! You're the
guy in the magazine! Can I ask you a question about my camera?' That
usually leads to a new client for classes, workshops, or photo
safaris.
*grin* Marketing 101! There are plenty of tours available from agents
on almost every block, but they are not made for photographers. They
move too quickly trying to cover more locations in one day and
photographers don't have time to set up shots or wait for the light to
change. With my workshops, we go the the most photogenic locations
based on what the client wants to shoot, and spend the time for them
to get the shots they want. I've had a Nat.Geo photographer here on
vacation with family opt out of regular tour at mid day and contact me
for my workshops just because the tour move too fast for them . Steve

Chiang Mai is Thailand's 2nd largest city of over 60,000. Where did
the walking cracker box come up with Chiang Mai being a very small
town? Welcome to Stevie's world of fantasies.

Perhaps if you idiots let go of one another's testicles for just one
moment you would realize Steve does NOT give 2 hoots about your silly
little childish shenanigans. He HAS enough to do to keep him busy
during the day anyway - what with his photo shoot for John West Salmon
down in Johor Bahru currently in the full swing of things.

Have a nice (AND busy) day, I know Steve WILL *grin*
