So the other night I was at the Saturn dealer getting
my inspection and oil change. I'm watching tv in the
waiting area and I got the remote to change the channel
so I could watch Jeopardy. I'm looking at the thing
and there's this button marked "fetch". I kid you not!!!
I even called RCA customer service the next day to ask
what it did since I had no access to the owner's manual.
They told me there was no such thing and that it was
probably a misprint. The guy I was talking to didn't
sound very bright and was probably an outsource person.
He thought I probably read it wrong or something. I couldn't
tell him the model number since I didn't know it. I'll
find out the next time I take my car in if necessary but
for now it's driving me crazy. I mean, I keep picturing
pressing that button and having a dog run in with a stick
in it's mouth!

This is what it says:

FETCH In the program guides, displays the guide
toolbar at the bottom of the screen. During
normal viewing, displays the Fetch menu with up
to eight different actions, or executes a single
task- depending on the preferences set.

It's a special feature on the newer sports oriented TVs. A guy presses the
fetch button and the wife/gf brings a cold beer.

Where have you been? They don't make RCA-compatible wives in America
anymore...try China.

Nope. That one was obviously bait; the first one cracked me up. It's
the visual (auditory in this case) thing that comes to me when reading
it.
