Gloria Pitzer recipes (from Phil Donahue)

Greetings everyone! I thought that I might share with
you some "Gloria Pitzer's" recipes from the Donahue show.
Bear in mind that it was a 1 hour show and things like,
how much chicken per breading mix was not said. But common
sense should guide you!

BUCKET IN THE SKY (K.F.C. original)

2 Cups self rising flour
2 Pkgs Powdered tomato soup
1 tsp salt
2 Pkgs Good Seasonings Italian dressing
1/4 Pound margarine ( for bottom of pyrex dish)

Mix drqy ingredients and put in paper or plastic bag, place chicken
in bag and shake till thoroughly coated. Put pieces of the butter
in the bottom of pan, add chicken and bake at 350, for 30.
or until juices run clear.


RECESS PEANUT BUTTER CUP (Reeses)

Chocolate: Melt 8oz hershey bar and 1/2 cup of peanut butter

Filling: melt til warm 1 cup of peanut butter


Place cup liners in cupcake pan. Place 1 Tbs. of choc.
mixture in each cup; Allow to cool or firm for 30 min.
Add 1 Tbls. of peanut butter mixture; then add another
1 Tbls of choc. mixture allow a couple hours to firm and serve.

WENDSDAYS CHILI (WENDY'S IMITATION)

2 Tbls oil
1 1/2 to 2 pounds of *ground round*
10 oz. can french onion soup (not creamy)
1 Tbls. chili powder
21 oz kidney beans (undrained)
6 oz. can tomato paste
8 oz. can tomato sauce

Blend 10 oz can of soup in blender for about 30 seconds.
Brown ground round till half done (a little pink)
add blenderized soup to the meat mixture and ad the remaining
ingredients. Simmer a long time.


WENDSDAYS "FROSTY"

In blender add; 1 cup of milk, 1/2 cup of nestle' quik,
3 cups softened vanilla icecream. Blend to desired consistency
(to soften icecream take from freezer and put in fridge
for 1 hour).


BIG MATCH SAUCE (Big Mac)

1 cup Miracle whip
1/3 cup pickle relish
1/3 cup french dressing (orange only)
1 Tbls. sugar
1/4 tsp black pepper
1 tsp. dry minced onion

Just mix it together.



TWINKLES (twinkies)


Cake:

3 Lg eggs
1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
1 cup whole milk
1/2 cup butter
1 1/2 cup sugar
1 tsp. salt
3 1/2 tsp. baking powder
2 cups flour

Filling:

1/2 cup margarine
1/2 cup Crisco
1 cup sugar
3/4 cup evaporated milk
1 Tbls. vanilla

Cake: Beat together; eggs, milk, vanilla, butter, sugar; until
fluffy. Mix in the remaining dry ingedients.
Bake in a greased and floured cake pan.
350 oven for 30-35 min.

Filling: Beat together with mixer; margarine, crisco, sugar
evaporated milk, vanilla; till light and fluffy.


After cake has cooled. Cut the cake in 2x4 squares. Spread
a heaping Tbls. of filling on cake and place another cake
square on top.

* Ideally a Pastry filler can be used to insert the filling
into individual squares *

This is KFC original chicken?

No, because it's baked, not pressure fried.

The pressure frying only cooked it faster. Regular frying, or deep
frying in oil would do it.

Then again, that recipe is NOT anywhere near the KFC recipe. Might be
good but not a KFC recipe.

If anyone wants authentic KFC chicken, just go buy some.

"It's just like KFC chicken!" How many times have we heard that - how many times has it been true?
Many times and never. That's the breaks.

Frying does occur in baking if the oil is right.

I don't know. I haven't had the recipe, yet.

Some just may want a cheaper alternative.
