i was asked if we wanted to give someone a carrot
cake. they're very yummy carrot cakes with cream
cheese frosting (not very sweet). i could eat a
whole one right now (they're only single layer and
the size of a small pie). still, i decided i would
like to not eat a lot more of these so for us to
give one away is a good thing for me to do.

and, well, Mom asked me this morning if a bag of
carrots was enough to make three more. last week
she made six of them.

to celebrate not eating any more cake for now i'm
going to go find a piece of chocolate and a few
peanuts. yes, i get paid in peanuts around here.
it makes me laugh. :)

do you cook goodies and give them away for fun or
for profit?

I cook for my wife's friends at her church and for charity.
Not fun, not profitable but satisfying.

I'd be sick as a dog from all that fat and sugar.

No. When I worked, I might bring in some excess chocolate
chip cookies or cheesecake, but only rarely.

Because you eat very responsibly. Never too much or too little of
anything.

Banana bread, banana pudding, and fruitcake cookies. All are given away.

I don't know when I'll make it, but I've got a recipe for a carrot cake cheese
cake.

I make a lot of fudge and caramel and use it (or withhold it) as a
form of domestic bargaining, bribery, and/or discipline. That's
kind of a grey area somewhere between fun and profit. Does that
count?

You should probably just stick to your curds and whey.

i sort of had cruds and why this morning (i cannot
resist word play - shute me).

some macaroni and tomato chunks got heated up to
reconstitute the noodles (from being in the freezer)
and then i put some chunks of cheese in there to
get a bit melty but not competely, added some pre-
cooked green beans and then squirted some sriracha
sauce on it and that was brunch. good eats.

only you can balance that equation squirty old chap.
i'm quite certain that Mom does use food as a lever to
get my semi-protoplasmic ass in gear. it's ok i like
to eat and she usually makes good things and when she
doesn't feel like it i'm quite able to fend for meself.

Will do! I think it's got a 100,000 calories per slice. 😄

Like I said, a grey area on the "Fun and Profit Scale". I've not
really thought of a BJ as "fun". Hmm - I don't think they do,
either.
