Had a look around when I was in town and look what I spotted :

Not sure why they put them in front of the house like that, but maybe they
are easier to pull to the uplift place.

Anyway, now you can see them!

I didn't disbelieve you, but yikes!

This is what it looks like here on garbage day (although this isn't where
I live):

<https://thewoodlandstownship-tx.gov/179/Recycling-and-Solid-Waste>

1 recycle bin (with paper, plastic, glass, and metal), 1 garbage bin,
and optional yard waste, which can also be put out bundled and tied
with string.

We have a detached garage that sits farther from the road than the house,
and slightly offset. We keep our bins in front of it.

Aye, they look a right mess:(

That looks ok!

with string.

Sounds good:))

We have smaller bins indoors which D empties into bin bags and as I
have said, take them to the recycle centre:)

It works for us:))

Is it less work this way or more esthetically pleasing or is this

The bins are picked up on different days and sometimes on different
weeks! I don't know and don't want to.

The recycle centre has different bins. Some for everything and some for
ie plastic bottles, batteries, wood etc. It is easy to pop around those when
it suits me :)
