Yes, and I'm sure you've noticed they're all from gmail users. I'm
tempted to killfile the entire domain. The problem with that is there
are a couple of legitimate RFC posters who use gmail addresses. I
suppose I could create separate message filters for them that would
allow me to see their posts. Naw, I'll just use the quick filter
feature in T-Bird when these idiot spammers crop up.

Don't bother trying to report any of it to Google; they don't give a rip.

I've whitelisted two gmail users and blacklisted all other gmail users.
It seems to be working quite well.

Filter the user names is prety useless with these asshole spammers
because they show up and post a bunch of spam under one name and the
next time they appear they are using a different name. It is a better
idea to filter the subjects with key words like oxyco, methadone, and
ketamine. Then there are the sex adds " for sex" covers most of them.

I'm sure someone here would be sure to reply and quote it.

I confess to having taken Kuthe out of the filter a while ago. I had
been somewhat confused about his psychoventures because I as only seeing
snippets of them in the comments people were making in response. I
figured I should get it straight from the horse's mouth. That didn't
last long. There are not enough hours in the day to bother with it.

Yeah. I saw enough comments about orgasmic tastes. I have seen enough of
his perverse obsessions here that it turned me off. It gave me the
impression he was licking his fingers after jerking off.

They don't come from gmail users, they come from Gooole Groups.
You can use any email address to post from Google Groups.

I just score all google groups post with a -1 and set my view to
only show threads with posts containing non-negative scores. This
has the effect of my only seeing threads when non-googlers post to
them. A thread made up of only Bryan, John, TJ, Greg and Joann
(not Joan), would not be seen by me. And that includes all the
spam as well.

But you can't do that with Thunderbird.

So much bitching about posters here and killfile nonsense. Why not just

Dumb-butt. Kuthe only posts a few messages a day.
It's the responses that are the bulk of Kuthe subject.
To save valuable hours, just killfile about everyone here, including

That's about right. This morning I downloaded about 200 new messages (no
killfile). I do suspect you're filtering too much though. Don't filter
by subject/threads as the content can change often.

I download all headers, then select them all, then download all the
message bodies. This puts them all on my computer so when I click on
each one, instant new message. Passing up the true spam only takes a few
minutes (out of the 200 new).

I don't think so. They are all there for a reason. A large portion of
them are the nymshifting assholes who post only to hassle Kuthe. Most of
the rest are just bitter assholes and idiots.

If there are about ordering drugs on line or looking for women for sex
the chance of thread thrift into something worth reading hovers very
close to zero.

There are a few people here who are just so nasty or so stupid they are
are not worth the time. I do occasionally take some of them out of the
filter but most of the time they end up right back in it.

I gave you an honest count of the number of posts in a 15 hour period.
There were 46 posts that came through and 144 that got filled. It's
convenient that it happens to add up to 200 because it is easy to see
that only 23% are making it through and 77% are being filtered. Why
would a sane person slog through the nonsense of ignoring 144 posts
from idiots and jerks?

That is probably because it was a bit out of character for me. I did
snip at Steve, but he deserved it. I saw that Jill post, and there was
no sense in arguing over it, so I read it and moved on.

I'm over it; no sense in continuing to dwell over annoyances. I've

several Bryan threw my way recently. It's just a waste of time and

"Unixing"... Lol. I'd say doubtful; Cindy goes to bed before the sun sets.

I don't know about that. I've spent in the upwards of 20 minutes just
skimming through spam posts. It takes seconds to add an address/name to
a KF, and block a number of future SPAM posts. Sorry, I've got to lean
into Jill's side here. I sure wouldn't want to have to click off all of
those messages each time I check in.

I click right through the commercial spammers. I read all the rest - the
posts from regular RFC people. They have the right to say anything they
want and I grant them the courtesy of reading what they say, no matter
if I agree or not.

Case in point - I read all of YOUR complaining and Jill's too.

Kuthe is the only regular i have kill-filed here. i don't see anything he
posts and i don't see any replies to his posts. occasionally threads will
get very long and the Message-IDs in References headers start getting
truncated due to technical limits making threads break free of the filters.
they're usually obvious and simply ignored.

ever since i started posting here you've positioned yourself as an anti
kill-file nazi. what the actual fuck is it to you what someone kill-files
or not and whether others openly share what they do?

Killfile pride is lame. Just do it if you need to. Especially people
like Dave Smith, who are proud of their killfile achievements, are
lame. But he was already lame, so it doesn't really matter.

Complain, complain, complain - that is all Our Poor Lil' Jill seems to do...

She's she just a bitter and lonely old Princess, locked in her "tower" aka the luxe country club estate that her parents
bequeathed her - and *still* not one bit happy...

Despite having most everything in life handed to her on a silver platter - aka "Daddy's Money" - she persists in being miserable...

The "worst thing" that ever happened to her in life is when she broke a fingernail opening a 3 litre box of Franzia Chardonnay, lol...!!

She has a litany of failed relationships, e.g. a failed marriage and siblings who - rightly! - detest her...

Even her cat Buffy was actually *relieved* when that Mean Old Hawk snatched her up and carried her away... Buffy would
no longer have to endure Jill's neurotic persona...

Princess Jill's only "solace" - except for guzzling box wine! - is whining and moaning about trolls and other perceived "enemies" - this marks her as a true "Karen":

People also ask:

"What is a Karen mean in slang?

Karen is a slang term for a white woman perceived as entitled or demanding beyond the scope of what is normal.

The term is often portrayed in memes depicting white women who use their white privilege to demand their own way...."

Jill *might* be helped by either a good screw, or a heaping dose of Prozac - maybe both...!!!

Lol...

;-P

this. sometimes weeks go by when i don't read Usenet and there are a
couple thousand unread posts here. on average i'd say 1/3 of it is
kill-filed by filtering Kuthe and all replies to him. i'm fully aware
those threads often descend into insightful conversation, but given
the subject lines i simply could not care less. there's more than
enough to read without subject lines titled by someone who has clearly
lost most of his marbles.

the spam as of late? that ain't quite annoying enough to me yet to
filter it. i just ignore it with a mental filter.
