That should be "Two turntables and a microphone." Beats the heck out of me what you can do with two tape decks. OTOH, cassette tapes are all the rage with the audiophiles. Sometimes I feel like I'm living in an alternate reality.

Does rainwater drip on the amp or do you keep it covered with plastic
sheeting?

NO leaks INSIDE!! And my carpenter Jason (whom I am business partners with!) said he was going to come over in a few weeks and get my gutters cleaned out and also he said he'd climb up high on the roof to waterproof anything up there! From the OUTSIDE, properly! He's already done most of the first tier roof, painted the repairs to match the tile roofing tiles too, so it;a appealing to the eye! Especially in the front of the house!

NO leaks in the basement! I check every time it rains hard!

And my La Scalas ROCK!! I only have to drive them with about a WATT as the La Scalas are super efficient loudspeakers, and THE Standard Theater Speaker for years!!

I always wanted some Klipsch speakers and NOW I HAVE SOME!! And YOU DON'T! Nya nya! ;-)

Asshole!

The Cheapies did MOST of our recording on my Pioneer CTf-1000 cassette deck with separate playback and record heads! And I hooked them up as a slightly delayed feedback loop and took a microphone and was playing with it near the loudspeaker cone and getting the most amazing swooshing cool weird sounds and Craig came over from next door and I said "Hey Craig! Check this out!!" and the Cheep Effects were born!

We did 5 songs that evening into next morning!! And I started the first cassette tape, a 90min Maxell. with the intro "This is a serious recording of the Cheep Effects" and we made much more experimental and some very standard music! Two songs in an actual recording studio including the first called "Weirdos On The Street" where I played a 1970's MOOG Synthesizer!!

Screw cassettes , I'm waitin' for reel to reel to make a comeback . I
was rearranging stuff today so I can set up my wife's aquarium and got
looking at my vinyl collection . I sure thought I had more than 200
albums ... my tape collection (both cassette and R2R) is a lot smaller .
But I have several hundred albums on my computers .

I have done that - recorded the same material on to separate tracks of a cassette tape. It's a startling effect. If you play the tracks together you get a flanging/phasing type effect. Played separately through stereo headphones, you get a panning effect.

I would not be surprised if music played on vintage Moogs starts trending.

Well, the mic was fine, cord and board was crap (trashed), so I bought a new mic cord and it STILL DOES NOT WORK in my Pioneer CTf-1000 cassette deck and it DID NOT WORK as I expected!! And I bought a nice new Peavey Practice amp w/effects and my mic/cord won't work in it either!! :-()

I'm having a 0% success day! :-(

My late father-in-law had a reel to reel machine and tapes. I don't know what happened to it but we tried to get rid of it when he died. Hopefully, we didn't dump it. People told us it was a good machine but nobody wanted it. I couldn't get up enough steam to load it up and try it.

There's a couple of tapes laying around our house - an Elvis Christmas tape and "My Fair Lady" original cast tape. Woo Hoo!

The funny part is that when I was a kid, my parents got me a mini-reel machine. That was one of the greatest presents ever! I loved that recorder.

Those small amps with effects are quite handy. I got one and have been using it recently. I wish we had those back in the 70's. Something like that would be considered cheap at around a 100 bucks. They sure beat a Pignose - haha!

I've owned Klipsh speakers for years. So your carpenter is your
business partner? I call BS on that. I'll back it up with a bet if you
would like.
