I found Dried Savory as one of the ingredients in a stew recipe. Is it a brand
name like Kitchen Bouquet? What can be used as a substitute? Thank you.

Savory is an herb.

What kind of stew are you making and what are the ingredients? It's hard to
offer a replacement if we don't know what the other ingredients are.

Savory is an herb...and it can be found in the dried herb section of
your supermarket....where they sell other dried herbs in small
bottles. Your recipe is just using the amount for dried Savory, as
opposed to fresh:):)

Savory is an herb so dried savory is the dried version of the herb.
The Internet Chef's _Cook's Thesaurus_
(http://www.ichef.com/ic-info/thesaurus/cookhome.html) says that
thyme or thyme with a dash of sage or mint can be substituted for
savory.

Savory is a dried herb. I personally prefer Summer Savory. To me the
flavor is more... um... pronounced, but ya have to be careful with
the amount. You should be able to find dried savory in the spice
section of your grocery store.

It is an herb, and can be found somewhere near the dried parsley et al.

Hello,
Savory is a herb which is specially used for cooked dishes containing
green beans. It cannot be substitued by another herb as it would alter the
taste considerably. Why not try it or is it difficult for you to obtain?
In this case use chopped parsley and you can't be wrong.
Greetings from Germany, Ingeborg.
