Today , for the first time, I saw a Williams Sonoma Caramel Apple on
the Rosie O'Donnell show. OMG it looked great. I had never heard of
Williams Sonoma before. We "hicks" in Central Texas don't get around
much....oops, I speak for myself. I sure would like to get some
opinions from those who have eaten one of the --enormous, fuji,
Williams Sonoma, caramel, dunked in chocolate and then nuts---APPLE. I
want to order one for myself, one for my brother's family, one for
myself, one for a friend, one for myself, one for my parents----etc.
What's the scoop on the Williams Sonora caramel apple---Is it worth
the money? I guess that is relative but I am asking for opinions.
Thanks in advance for either saving me money or encouraging me to add
a zillion calories.......

I don't have a clue. William-Sonoma is a cookware and
general kitchen msde store. They do have sections with "gourmet"
(i.e. over-priced) sauces and other foods and most are quite
tasty, but very expensive. It wouldn't surprise me to hear that
your apple is $10.00. Oops, no, it's $18.00....apiece.

go to:

and scroll down to see it.

Shirley, I don't know about Texas, but I'm in Tennessee. You can buy the
stuff to make them yourself at the grocery store (you pretty much gave the
method in your post). Or just buy them already made in many grocery stores.
I wouldn't think purchasing them via a web site or catalog with the Williams
Sonoma name on them would make them any better (or fresher).

Unfortunately they do taste great. I rarely like things of that sort but I had
a chance to taste one and it was really very good.

Most of what WS sell is overpriced for what it is.
The apple probably is the same. Given that it must be
shipped to you, it isn't going to be as good as one
freshly-made. Caramel apples do not improve with age.

Thanks, Jill
I guess what really got me reved up about the apple is because Rosie
O'Donnell kept going on and on about how good the apple, itself,
smelled. There is supposed to be something very special about the way
the Fuji is harvested (they keep a brown bag over it before picking
for some reason) and the are supposed to be 17" in circumference---but
you are right. I did describe how to make them and I could just us
smaller Fujis.

Oh the same Rosie who says no one should have guns except her children's
body guards!? Rosie says it's good so it is? Good thing she doesn't sit
there with a bag of s**t and say you should have one of these also!

As the sign on my gun vault says: "Blaming guns for violence is like
blaming spoons for Rosie O'Donnell's fat ass"
