for a perfect start of every morning
i need
A fresh cup of hot coffee....

Usually start in the microwave with about three cups of water. I heat
that up to boiling which is usually about 4 minutes, I use a thick
glass measuring cup to heat the water in the nukemaster 5000. Then I
pull it out piping hot and put in about three tbsp of ground coffee, I
am currently using Ruta Maya which is sold at costco. It is a whole
bean coffee that I keep in the freezer which is where all of your
excess coffee should be stored to ensure maximum freshness. Now I know
that some idiots have said that you should never freeze coffee because
you will get freezer burn. Well as I said they are idiots and do not
realize that roasted coffee beans contains very little water if any at
all so if you keep the beans inside a sealed container then there will
be no freezer burn.
Anyway back to my perfect start.
So while still inside the large glass measuring cup I stir my ground
beans (I grind myself and I do NOT use a burr grinder because they are
horrible and can burn your beans) then slowly pour into a french
press. I leave about 1/4 cup inside the measuring cup so as not to
pour excess floaty bits of grounds into my french press because they
are usually too small to be filtered by the press.
While in the press I add my sugar and my cinnamon then stir well. I
then put on the top then press the coffee down and pour into a glass
mug then add a tbsp of chocolate syrup and about 2 tbsp of milk. Stir
again then sit back and thoroughly enjoy the perfect cup of coffee.

I usually make a fresh cuppa every cup. Even Tim Horton's (the WORST
tasting restaurant chain) tosses it after 20 minutes if it does not sell.

Do you really leave coffee lying around exposed to oxygen the entire day?

That method has the advantage of suspending the coffee grounds in water. The problem with French press coffee is that sludge on the bottom of the cup and the grounds on your tongue. I find that rather unpleasant.

Yes I know what you mean and that is why I use the 2 pour method, it
does not reduce it completely but it does take out about 95% of it all

It is not the coffee that is becoming stale, It is the fact that they
put the coffee over very hot burners and it literally burns the coffee
and ruins it. All of these restaurant chains do this. For some reason
they feel they need to put freshly brewed coffee over a scorching heat
source. They dont seem to realize it or care that they are just
burning the coffle and ruining it. If they put it in an insulated
thermos or container it would last hours almost or at least until it
got too cool to enjoy.

I do agree. Leftover coffee kept on a warmer will taste bad
by time you go for a 2nd cup. I never do that. Better to let
it cool then reheat in a microwave later if necessary.

If I brew more than one cup, I'll wrap it in a kitchen towel
to keep warm rather than keep it on a heat source.

I drink mine within an hour of making it . The second cup is just as
tasty as the first ... and I start every day with a cup - right after
Max and I have our morning walk . Put the coffee on to brew , by the
time we get back it's ready . Now if I could only get him to sleep in a
little , he gets up as soon as it's light and expects me to do the same .

My cat (lived to be 19.5) would always sleep on the end of my
bed. Right about 4am, he would wake up and purposely walk right
over me then go to his litter box in the bathroom.

So I got up too and went to make coffee. Cat was waiting
for me in the kitchen for his morning can of meat breakfast.
