I have two 4 1/2 ounce cans of tiny shrimp and if I don't find a use for them
soon I will probably get rid of them. Are there any recipes out there that
call for these? Like some kind of spread for crackers and stuff like that?

Thanks!

Meredith's Shrimp Dip

About 8 ounces of shrimp, drained (It will become obvious that quantity is
only a guideline here)
1/3 cup cocktail sauce
1/4 cup mayonnaise (Best Food's/Hellman's)
1 or 2 Tablespoons Worchestershire sauce
1 or 2 Tablespoons lemon juice
1 teaspoon garlic salt--taste first, it shouldn't be too salty
Coarsely ground black pepper, also to taste

Mix together and let chill for a while before serving, to let the
flavors blend. You should have a creamy, piquant sauce with little
shrimp in it--don't overwhelm the shrimp, but don't make it too bland
either.

I like to scoop this up with pita bread (cut in 6 wedges then separated)
or tortilla chips. You get more of the sauce without dripping with the
pits.

Here is a recipe for Shrimp Dip that is the BEST I have ever
tasted. It's good for crackers or veggies.

Shrimp Dip

Cream together until smooth:
1 3-oz cream cheese, softened
1/2 cup mayonaise
1-1/2 tsp lemon juice

Add:
1/2 cup chopped celery
1/2 cup chopped onion
1 small can shrimp, chopped

Chill to blend flavors.

THE BEST! Enjoy.

Never get rid of cans of shrimp!!! Unless you want to mail them here :}

You can always drain and add the shrimp to a vegetable salad, or any
soups you make from a mix or canned.

My favorite would be in a dip for crackers. Experiment with cream
cheese or sour cream and soup mix or seasonings. I'll e-mail a recipe
for a mousse-y mold made from canned tomato soup, shrimp and herbs.

These come in very handy ... just use your imagination!!!

I add salad shrimp packages to those Asian paper bowls of instant noodles.

Better fry them up. If they were close to BB date in 1991 then probably
by now they really need a good crisping.

Canned shrimp are HORRIBLE. They should have died along with those
savory Jell-O "aspic" molds (some of which contained those canned
shrimp).

Yes, outside - where the deer and the antelope play.
I saw 4 myna birds fighting yesterday - I think. I wasn't sure what I was seeing. It could have been two male mynas raping two female mynas or it could have been a male and female couple attacking another couple. It was quite a violent rumble with two of the bird laying on the ground in a submissive posture while getting beat up by a bird going head to head with them. The light turned green so I couldn't stick around to see how it ended.
Hopefully, it's not a sign of the end times.

As for canned tiny shrimp... before I knew any better (living in a state
nowhere near an ocean), I bought some once. They were sometimes
referred to as "salad shrimp" back in the day.

I've posted something similar before, but nobody was impressed. It's a
dish from my inland childhood, and I still like it. I even have a can of
shrimp to make it soon.

Creamed shrimp on toast.

Make a bit of white sauce
Dump in a small can of shrimp, liquid and all
Make two pieces of toast, butter both and cut one diagonally to fit on a
regular plate.
When the shrimp and sauce are hot, pour over the toast
Jazz it up with a dusting of paprika

Frozen cocktail shrimp might be even better, but I grew up with this.

Not freshly caught, no. That's still rare as hen's teeth anywhere
that's more than a few miles from the ocean.

But Grand Rapids in 1991 was hardly "Little House on the Prairie".
They had the same access to frozen shrimp as anybody else. Frozen
shrimp are light-years better than canned.
