A pan-fried cod fillet with steamed asparagus. Simple and tasty. I
think I'll have a glass of Reisling to go with it.

What's on your menu?

That sounds a lot better than my ratatouille with chicken.

I don't know about "better". I've never made ratatouille although the
soup does sound appealing. :) I love eggplant/aubergine. It's one of
those vegetables I don't buy unless I have something specific in mind,
such as eggplant parmesan. Or simply sliced, seasoned, lightly breaded
(there's flour and egg wash involved) pan fried slices of eggplant.
That's something I haven't done in a couple of decades, don't ask me why
since it's so very easy and tastes so good.

The rest of the ham and cabbage but I'll make another small (5") skillet

I just posted in reply to your 1/17 dinner, it's about time I bake some
cornbread again. Or cornsticks. :)

I had some pizza with pieces of breaded eggplant with purple onions, black olives, onions and tomatoes.

The Reisling (a German vintner, it's called "Relax") was a Christmas
gift from the man I work for and his wife. :)

I was craving the Big Macs here hours before I finally tried the soup.

The soup is so good (as it always is). This winter, I've been eating a
bowl (as an appetizer) almost every day. Since it's just an appetizer
though, a Big Mac would have been "the icing on the cake." lol

For lunch yesterday, I had a big bowl of the soup and, right after that,
one slice of thick toast, spread with peanut butter and a slice of swiss
cheese on top. (That's a favorite snack of mine)

Here's some real old style Hawaiian food - a burger and a potato/mac salad. It's exactly like what I ate back in the 60's. I had that at a coffee shop the other day. Time machine food.

I think the definition of "mystery meat" here is who knows what crap is
ground into the store bought ground beef. Unless you trust your local
butcher, that is. Hundreds of different cows and cow parts could be in
that commercial ground beef. A roast is clearly from one animal, and
you can see the quality of the beef.

No, no, Sheldon has the market cornered on that.

Best I've got is the time that my high school girlfriends father walked
in on us early one morning (snow day) at his house. I'm not getting
into details, but after his rant and threats directed at me, he screamed
"why don't I get any??" before he slammed his bedroom door. Her mom
woke up by this point and started giggling... I ran out of there... He
still doesn't like me to this day.

All KFC chicken is tortured Frankenmeat. If you're worried about
animal welfare or "uber-processed" meat, don't eat fast food meat.
