I can't imagine a substitute for Rosemary! That is such a strong
herb...

There is no direct substitute I can think of that would give you the same
flavor, somewhat resiny or piney. However, a dish that calls for rosemary
can be equally good, if different, with other herbs or spices. What kind
of dish is it? Rosemary chicken could be good with thyme or tarragon
instead. A cookie or cake might be made with fennel, anise or cardamom.
Pizza or polenta could use marjoram, thyme, or oregano.
