We attempt to get to most requested Israeli dances, no matter how popular they
were when they were new, and even if no other group is playing them, as long as
they were choreographed no later than the end of 1993. (We move this date
forward one year each January.) The rest of the program consists of a wide
selection of older dances; mostly from the 60's, 70's, and 80's; and we vary
what we play each month. The program is all-circle until 9:30, and then
alternating between sets of three partner dances and sets of seven nonpartner
dances until closing. (Arrive as close to 8:16 as possible, if you only want
to do nonpartner dances!)
The following three Vintage nights, all at the same location, will be:
June 28 (last Saturday)
July 26 (last Saturday)
September 6 (first Saturday)
NOTE: June 28 will be our annual party night.
**We meet in a nice air-conditioned dance studio, and it has a WOODEN floor.
Directions: The studio is at the southern edge of the San Fernando Valley, 1.5
miles east of the 405 Freeway, 0.5 miles south of the 101 (Ventura) Freeway,
between Van Nuys and Woodman. Either exit from the 405 at Ventura and go east;
exit from the 101 at Van Nuys, go south to Ventura, go east; or exit from the
101 at Woodman, go south to Ventura; and go west. (It takes about 20 minutes
to drive to the studio from West LA on a typical Saturday night.) The room is
in the back building, down the walkway, and upstairs.
