So after Novia's bath I gave Renegade a bath too while he stood loose
in the pasture. He loved it! He's usually a little spooky so it was
fun to do something he really liked. He kept turning from side to
side so I could reach his back and rump (he's tall and I'm short).
I got nice and wet, too...felt nice as it's over 90F here today!
Jeannie
and Novia ("I like baths too, except for the face part.")
And at least part of those errands would be .... checking out that
Welsh pony for me! :-) Thanks again Jeannie, it made a big
difference for you to help me out with this, saving me two gas trips
or at the very least making my haul down with the truck/trailer not so
much of a crap shoot. I pick him up Sunday! :-) The lady was very
nice in our subsequent phone call. Just goes to show you how the
written word can be so devoid of tone. That's my excuse anyway for
anytime I've ever p*ssed off anybody here! :-)

A lot of the horses here like that! They will present one side, then
turn and present the other side... I love to do it for them when it's
hot although I don't like washing off all the fly spray. Some of the
ones who never get worked get sprayed with the hose and then they coat
themselves with dirt, in lieu of fly spray. Works pretty good except
for the face...

Hehehe!

I was driving in Jackson today and it was 7:30 PM and 102 degrees!
Yuck! My mother in law lives in Eureka right by the beach and it was
93 on her back porch... very unusual for the coast. Same for you it
sounds!
take care
cindi
Jeannie - you are sort of near me (and I am near Cindi). We should all
meet up at the Horse Expo or something - that would be great!
Cute horsey story. Thanks...
Judie
I was glad to be able to help, Cindi! It was fun. Maybe I can hire
out part-time as a horse evaluator...except only at the most basic
levels since I don't do dressage or jumping and that seems to be what
most people these days are interested in.
But I can do "Would I buy this horse if I were in the market for one?"
really well! :)

It's a teeny bit less warm today (I'm not going to say "cooler") at 95
vs. yesterday's 97, but it's only 2:30....
Jeannie
My tickets just came in the mail today! I'm taking a minivan full of
people, all my students, all three days, and we are also going on
Thursday to see the Magnificient Seven elimination rounds. I hope
this heat wave is gone by then! We should meet up! Jeannie, were you
going to go to the Horse Expo?
My truck broke down today when I went to Penn Valley to pick up
Captain and Scarlett (I had sent them to a Parelli trainer while I was
in Japan, and when I got home from Japan, my truck was broke down, so
I kept them there another month... Then fixed the truck, but now it's
broke again!) So I can't pick up that pony on Sunday! I just emailed
the owner... I'm totally bummed. I offered to pay her to deliver
him. I don't know if she'll want to do that. Hope she doesn't
realize it's the melanoma lady who's now flaking on picking up the
pony she said she'd buy! :-)
