A Finnsheep ewe in the state of Washington has given birth to seven lambs:

Apparently the Finnsheep breed often gives birth to five or so lambs,
but seven constitute a rare event.

I don't know what Finnsheep are good for other than looking cute. I had
never before heard of the breed.

Suddenly, without warning, Jim Casey exclaimed (4/15/2012 6:39 PM):
How did she fit them all in there? I never heard of sheep having
litters before...

I dunno.

In the case of most mammals, when they conceive twins or multiples, the
size of the fetuses is limited compared to single births. I don't know
the mechanism.

The smaller ungulates like sheep and goats frequently have multiple
births, but their viability isn't great beyond the twin stage (i.e., 3,
4, 5, or more).

So I've heard. I have not yielded to Facebook yet, but I suppose I will
have to eventually.

Wintering? Isn't it like, 90° there now?

Let me know if you get closer to the coast. Call me or send a text message.

I won't this year...... when I leave here I'm going to the Airstream
rally in Sedalia, MO then heading to the west coast for a while... maybe
a couple of years!
